My mom said, " See? All they do at those rock and roll concerts is kill people."

My response: " You voted for Nixon. He'll kill a LOT more people by sending them off to Vietnam."

I think that was a pretty sharp response for a 12 yr old.

Heh

That's funny. I thought it was the South Vietnamese who were gunning down and torturing our soldiers.

Yes, but Nixon should have known that the South Vietnamese were going to gun them down and torture them and not sent them there.

I guess we shouldn't have sent soldiers into Europe during WWII either seeing as how some of them were captured and tortured by the Gestapo.

So Nixon, the former president of our country, had no responsibility in sending people to war, but MLK somehow can be held responsible for the actions of rioters in a crowd. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Now, let us allow for the fact that our "heroes" are not perfect. No, MLK was not the greatest of the greats. Neither was Malcolm X, Mahatma Gandhi , Mother Tereasa, or the Dalai Lamas. What is a hero to one person is a villain at worst and an idiot at best to others.

Would you both agree to disagree and leave it at that, or are you guys going to continue to whip 'em out and measure 'em?
