I cannot believe that no one has mentioned the pencil/magic moment in the movie! That, to me, pretty much defined the Joker right there - killing someone without a second thought and the making a joke about it ("It's magic!") after - that was an awesome moment!
Actually, everything about the movie was fantastic - I think its the first time a movie actually surpassed the hype about it. Ledger deserves every accolade he receives from this - he actually creeped me out at times, and Dent/Two-Face was done really well - you kinda felt sorry for him. Didn't see Rachel's death coming, but it was done well, and unlike Katie, Maggie's performance actually made her a likeable character.
Like Basite, I figured the cat comment was forshadowing for the next movie's villian. I've heard that Nolan and co aren't signed for a third movie - is this true? I sincerely hope not...

I partly agree with rex (why God why?) over the Asian storyline, but it did serve its purpose in Bats' quest to get to the Joker. I wanted to see more from Two-Face though. It would have been cool to see Harvey's role become that of the anti-hero that punishes those that have the power to save Gotham, but don't use it. Somehow the DA turned bank robber doesn't work as well for me, like in the animated series.

I'll agree there, I hated Two-Face's death. I mean, Batman made that exact fall and only had the wind knocked out of him! What the fuck killed Harvey?! But each time I watch, there is no breathing in the longish shots with his body in them. And, as a breather, I know you have to do that intentionally.

I remember Harvey being taken by surprised and bodyslammed over the edge. He fell completely unprepared, already had the massive burns on his body, and hit the ground with nothing but the clothes on his back. Batman was hanging onto to something a foot or so down while he handed the kid up to Gordon and then fell. Not only was he wearing strong body armor, but as a trained martial artist ninja guy he knows how to take a fall.
Bow ties are coool.
