This is a fantastic show - anyone else watching it?

I am....I like it.

I'm totally digging this. The idea of vampires being "out of the coffin" and trying to get the same rights (and acceptance) as regular humans works. The concept reminds me a bit of the Xmen. I hoping for a bit more violence, though.

I watched the first two episodes. It was more than enough. I don't give a shit about any of the characters...that is, I don't give a shit about the characters besides those I flat-out hate. The story seemed to be going nowhere. And I had my fill of white trash vampires when I went of the "Vampire Tour" down in New Orleans (before it became the White Trash Atlantis). Wanting to take Anna Paquin behind the school and impregnate her (thank you, Tracy Morgan) is no reason for me to follow a TV show. Besides, the new seasons of Dexter and Californication just started.

I don't watch it, but a few of the women at work do and love it even though they admit it's cheese with bad accents and no understanding of the South.

Well, from the examples I've been given, someone in southern LA wouldn't be bitchin' about it being 80 degrees outside. They'd be pretty fucking content.

Watched episode 3. It sucked. It's the TV horror equivalent to the cheesy romance novel. Though seeing Anna Paquin wank twice was nice.

It sounds like something that I'd at least try to watch...

• I'm a big fan of "True Blood" and was thrilled that HBO recently sent me the first four episodes of Season 2 on a special preview DVD. I've made it through two of the episodes already and they're great, especially the subplot about a self-possessed teenager who is now a newly created vampire.
  
  After getting off to a rocky start critically last fall, "True Blood," based on the books by Charlaine Harris and created by Alan Ball, who created "Six Feet Under" and wrote "American Beauty," steadily built its audience to emerge as HBO's most popular show in recent years, with an average of 7.8 million viewers watching each episode by the end of Season 1.
  
  With a fervent fan base, including nearly half a dozen fan-run websites that HBO -- in a forward-thinking approach to managing public opinion -- actively fosters, "True Blood" is hoping to prove with its sophomore season that even in the "Twilight" age of vampire overkill, it can maintain its success.

Depends upon the vampires. Anne Rice vampires are very gay and emo. Vampires in movies like John Carpenter's Vampires and Near Dark are wholly un-gay and very bad ass. From what I understand, these are soap opera, white trash vampires. I would say that they're probably gay; but, from what I understand, they showed the Anna Paquin boobs.

The show sucks. They have nudity so guys who are forced to watch it with their girlfriends have something to look forward to.

(Place bad pun about the use of the word 'sucks' when talking about vampires here.)

twilight ruined anything that has to do with vampires for at least the next decade.
