Two others from another era:
James Brown and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The latter was turned into a good movie with Winona Ryder when she was looking her best. And also portrayed in the Harlan Ellison novel Spider Kiss (released in an earlier 1961 edition under the title Rockabilly).
