Emergency departments are fun, especially on Friday nights! Loonies and drunks everywhere!

Anyway, I didn't die so they kicked me out of hospital. CT scan yesterday. Turns out it was a swollen pancreas (which still isn't great but at least I'm not dead).

Hey baby check out my swollen pancreas!

Feeling somewhat old as a consequence of organs doing old people things. Keep 'em flying, lads!

Just get it removed. You'll feel twenty years younger.
A reminder that none of us are getting any younger. Except Kristogar Velo.

Anyway, it's good that you got out of it fine. A coupla years ago I was diagnosed as prediabetic. I'm not used to the idea of maintaining the body and watching what I eat so it was a jarring experience. Especially since I was a new father then and felt afraid that I could mess up my body and mess up a couple of people's lives as well.
I had a fake heart attack.

I was reading WebMD, then I had my wife take me to the hospital.

It was pretty much just anxiety.
What did Dave to to mess up his pancreas, anyway. The pancreas seems like one of those parts of the body that nobody pays attention to. I have no idea what it does, myself.
I googled Pancreas and got this:

Insulin. If I can't continue to eat sugary shit I'll be very cranky.

Jaberg - sorry to hear that. Visits to Emergency are a bit shitty I think.
I'm glad you are ok,Dave. You know you can't maintain that diet of Pepsi and Doritos every day and not expect your body to object at some point!

I went to the emergency room for a sprained shoulder (thinking it was broke or dislocated) and they charged me $600 for the visit!Plus I had to sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes in pain before the doctor would even look at my shoulder! For the money they charge they should hire more staff to move people through the ER faster.
Yeah well you people have a strangearse hospital system over there. My hospital visit didn't cost me anything. Yours, Lothar, seems excessive for a wee arm strain.

XHampster?
What is that, Jaburg? Also, there's no P.

Glad you're not dead yet, Dave!
Not yet by God!
