This isn't some groundbreaking, earth-shattering, mind blowing, etc. problem.

No, it's quite regular actually, but still, I'm not entirely sure what to do, so I'd like to hear some opinions.

You see, I went to public school when I was younger. And there was this girl whom I liked really much, and when I say really much, I mean REALLY much. Obviously that's passed now, it was a long time ago and we haven't talked for nearly 9 years.

But then a couple of days I get a text message from where she asks if I'm the Michael she went to school with. Which I am.
It turns out that she and another of my old classmates are trying to get an old school reunion together just for our class.

So, here's the dilemma. Even though it's passed along time ago I'd really like to meet her again, if only just to talk to her.

But some of my old classmates contributed greatly to the nightmare that was my public school years. And I'm really not too keen on meeting those guys again.

So, I'm not sure what to do...

what would you do?
Go!
9 years has passed.
Hopefully she is still attractive & those guys are probably all fat & bald!

People are rarely the same as they were in high school (in my experience) as far as the teasing and such. People I didn't get along with in high school were pretty friendly and cordial even just a year after graduation. Getting outta that insane, teenage zoo does a lot to change people's perspectives.

Kill them all with your mind.
I went to a reunion a few years ago.
It was something like 16 years since I saw most of those people.

The girls, for the most part, had not aged badly but most of the guys were pretty fucked up!
At school I had always looked like I was older than most of them, but now, even the one or two that were in the year below me, they all looked about 10 years older than me!
I'd say I looked my age at 32, but those guys musta ate some aging pills or something!
Some of them were considered the cool guys at school, and chicks dug them, but here they were either fat, bald or both!

Nine years probably wont have affected people so badly, but like doc says, time certainly changes people, both physically & mentally!

Definitely go Michael! And try and fuck this girl that you like....or at the very least go and get a cup of coffee together.

and then fuck her.
Up the arse!

Yeah, I'm somewhat thinking I should go. And bring a camera, take lots of pictures and then initiate a smear campaign

AND FUCK HER IN THE ARSE MICHAEL!!!!
In Denmark, Michael gets fucked in the arse!

Ask her out separate from this proposed reunion. If she says no, you're no worse off. If she says yes, then it's a date and you treat it like a date and see where it goes.

I like your reply, Jim. This frees Chant from having to be in with a crowd whom he does not wish to be around, and gives him a chance with the girl.
I second that.
Try having an opinion of your own, dick breath!

Try learning to post something that doesn't like a "South Park" catchphrase, knucklehead.
Was that on South Park?

Hmmm, I was sure I'd remember that if it were. Guess not.

I don't care if your English teacher was Christie Yamaguchi. There's no reason for such poor grammar!

sure there is. It'd be the same if it was you trying to formulate a coherent sentence in danish. (actually, that would be understandable, since danish is the more difficult language)

But anyway, since when do you care?

I don't care if I'm trying to formulate a coherent danish sentence with Christie Yamaguchi! You don't speak unless you know what you're saying.

And what makes Danish harder? Serious question.

Sure you do, if the message is understood, who's to complain? It's not everyone who can have your "oh-so-perfect-and-flawless-grammar-and-spelling" Take a look at WBAM, he couldn't spell shit if his life depended on it. But it's not that bad. Because people (usually) understand the message he's trying to convey.

Why is this any different?

Well, there are several reasons. Some of which will most likely seem stupid to you, but no less true.

Verbs with more than one meaning, pronounciation, syntax, stuff like that.

To be completely honest, you as an american and english speaking individual would find it more difficult to learn danish than a german would.

A small example. My sisters name is Katrine. The last part "ne" is the problem. It seems easy enough, but the problem is because you've spoken english your entire life you'll find it difficult, if not downright impossible to pronounce it.

You'll most likely end up saying "Katrina" which is wrong.

Obviously when I say "you" I don't mean you as individual, but you as in americans in general.

But as you've already noted, I've got a difficult expressing myself with correct grammar

Oh, and

edit: don't get upset because of me saying that you'll have a hard time learning danish.
It's not really you there's something wrong with, it's the danish language there's something wrong with.

I don't care if I understand it. That doesn't mean it makes grammatical sense.

You suck!

Uh....I wasn't.

I'm in linguistics right now, thus my interest.
