Dude none of you guys put Ricky The Dragon Steamboat or the 1980's version of Macho Man before he got a hold of experimental growth hormones and steroids.
Not a Steamboat fan.
The Dynamite Kid, he could mix it up with the big guys and it was as believable as if he was a heavyweight....
Great call there. Dynamite certainly lived up to his name, and a lot of the guys on everyone's lists so far were heavily inspired by the guy.

The Dynamite Kid rocked! No doubt he influenced a lot of North American wrestlers but Lucha Libre was around for a long time before the Dynamite Kid.
I`ve been quite impressed with Kid Kash as well!
heh
i gotta say mysterio is the greatest cruiserweight wrassler i've seen. though i have an affinity for 80s wrestling, i dont remember them really goin as all out and nutty as they do today.

the acrobatics seen in a standard mysterio, storm (does he count?), kidman or hurricaine matches are on an 80s ppv level.
Kidman? He does his little shooting star but as a cruiser i dont find him all that talented.....
Rob mentioning Storm brings up something that annoys me about the current cruiser title.
The weight restriction is just too restricting meaning that guys like Storm,Y2J & Matt Hardy are no longer viable contenders (yeah, yeah I know Matt did that whole weight loss thing).
I preffered the old WWE light heavyweight title which also allowed the smaller "big" guys to compete.
Guys like Jericho,Benoit,Eddie Guerrero,Christian etc can so easily fight in both light heavyweight & heavyweight divisions without looking out of place!
This is why the X-Division in NWA is probably better than the WWE cruiser division!

A guy like Rey Rey is only as good as the guys he is competing against, and we have seen some great matches with him up against non cruisers!

Tajiri is not a good competitor so I`m not expecting much from his match against Rey Rey at No Mercy!
Now this woulda been a great match to see.

i dont think he's as good as rey, but when they used to battle in wcw, i really looked forward to their fights. great in competition.

Finally signed to WWE & what do they do?
Put him in a squash match with Lesnar!
At least he whupped Shannon Moore a month back on Velocity!

Still lost though...
Being on Velocity doesnt mean you are signed to a WWE contract,Jimmy Yang was on Velocity or Heat a few weeks back but he has only just signed an actual WWE contract.......dont fergit they use OVW talent on the junior WWE shows!
