GAMESTOP Considering Buyout (with HOT TOPIC Owners Interested) - Report

The video game/electronics/comic book retailer GameStop Corp is considering a possible buyout, according to Reuters. The news outlet reports that GameStop executives are meeting with various private equity firms regarding selling a controlling interest in the company.

One of the firms reportedly interested in the GameStop buyout is Sycamore Partners - who has previously acquired Staples and Hot Topic.

All Gamestop wants is a parent company who loves it and whom GameStop can love back.

Gamestop would still be profitable today if it weren't for that one jackass who failed to stack Soul Calibur IV boxes properly a few years ago.

I think the real question here is, "Are they selling for cash, or store credit?"
