I was just point out to you how stupid a question like that was in the era of these things call 'The Internet' and 'Photoshop'.

Actually photoshop and the internet mean that it makes less sense to go to garage sales and buy crappy paintings. He could get what he wants on the net without (as the article says) going to garage sales and buying the things.
