DAN SLOTT UNVEILS "SPIDER-VERSE," FEATURING "EVERY SPIDER-MAN EVER"
  • Starting in November, Slott and Olivier Coipel are bringing "every Spider-Man from every universe together for the first time." The story kicks off in "Amazing Spider-Man" #9, continuing in that book and other, yet-to-be-revealed titles. The story will be previewed with a five-page back-up story in Marvel's Free Comic Book Day offering this May.

"This is every Spider-Man ever teaming up, or fighting each other," Slott said, adding later that readers will definitely see some "spider-fights." "Some won't get along. It's a Spider-Man story on a scale we have never seen before. Epic in its scope."

Funny. This is the kind of convoluted silver age stuff that Marvel used to give DC shit for relying upon back in the 80s.

From the image, they forgot a Parker-incarnation from MARVEL FANFARE 1 and 2, where he was mutated into a giant spider.

And pretty cool, actually.
Especially as drawn by Michael Golden.

I could be wrong, but I think that story happened in regular Marvel continuity and was only a temporary mutation (not unlike the extra arms back in ASM 100) so it might not count.

Yeah, I thought of that.
While it's in-continuity, it DID occur outside the regular Spider-man titles, in MARVEL FANFARE.

But it's still in-continuity with the Claremont-scripted X-men titles with Sargon, Ka-Zar and the Savage Land. And was continued on with the Bruce Jones/Brent Anderson/Ron Frenz/Armando Gil KA-ZAR series (issues 19-22).

So while they could say technically it didn't happen in the Spider-man titles, it is part of Marvel continuity.

They'll miss one or two alt universe Spidermans and the fanboys will flip out!

Joey is specifically looking for the Gay Universe Spider-Man.
