I've had Marvel Unlimited for a year and I love it. It is six months behind current issues but it does give you access to a ton of comics from Marvels digital library.

There are some gaps. Either due to copyright or if the issue hasn't been scanned yet.

Its not the best reader but it works decent on my tablet.

I've never heard of it. How does it work, and how did you get turned on to it?

Its an app, you need wifi. You can save 12 issues on the device.

It is a subscription service. I paid for the year.

I found it when my wife gave me a Nook last Christmas and I immediately started looking through the apps for comics.

You can save 12 issues as well as read off the library downloading via wifi.

I have comixology, and have pretty much converted my entire collection to the app. Gone are the bins and drawers beneath my bed or in storage; now everything fits in my phone. It's not always as nice as holding a book (while pooping) but the pros far outweigh the cons.

If DC had something like the Marvel app where you can read the comics 6 months late for a reasonable price I'd get it, but getting them on Comixology for $4-5 each sounds insane to me. Digital comics should be $1 each.

Worse than that, DC recently is selling the digital first "Harlan Ellison" issue of "Batman 66" for ten bucks.

Eff that.

It says Batman on it so you know people will buy it.

Digital comics costing as much as real comics is bogus. \:whoa\:

Entirely. No printing and distribution costs should keep prices way down.

I bought Old Man Logan off the Marvel site. Easy to read. But no cheaper than the print version and worse, I had to maintain my subscription to maintain the story. So when I let me subscription go, pop!

I'm trying the Marvel thing since they had a two months for one promo and so far I'm liking it a lot. I was over a year behind on the comics I'm reading so even with the six month delay I'm still catching up. Also the back catalogue is huge so I can use this for research (not the Pete Townshend type).

My only problem is that the "12 issues" you can save to read offline are actually more like 6. If you're completely offline you can only see half of them. My tablet doesn't have 3G or anything like that so if I'm going on a long trip, I'll only have six comics to read, which isn't enough... so I'll probably end up bringing some CBRs anyway.
