I don't read the comics anymore, so I don't give a fuck. All this press just reminds me of how much I fucking hate John Romita Jr.'s art.
Yeah, that's what Superman needed to make him interesting. ANOTHER power.
You're missing the important point here, G-man.

John Romita Jr. is a shit artist.
I dropped the Superman titles because of horrible artwork and long go nowhere stories. The changes and artwork at the link show I was right.

Some things are so obvious they don't need comment.
Romita Jr was never a favourite of mine, but I never hated his work either. But looking at that link, he has seriously deteriorated.
What a cunt!
what the hell is a super solar flare. it sounds like something a dragonball character would shout while fighting.
It's all just a cover up for Superman sharting his costume after a spicy dinner.
Superman is way too overpowered. I wrote about it on a website the only rob and his wife visit . How long until it's just a regular power that he uses to super cum into Wonder Woman?
I have been `legally purchasing` comics lately to catch up and even I cannot bring myself to `legally purchase` this shitstain. Johns just needs to quit. And, fyi, Supergirl used this new power a few months ago.
Isn't this a lift from Morrie's Absolute Superman?

I don't mind the idea of some new moneyshot power which causes him to be weakened afterwards, and thereby able to be defeated by lesser foes. It gives the writers some flexibility. Facing Metallo? High octane Superman. Facing Toyman? Oh dear, recovering from solar flare power surge thing, can't use super-speed and heat vision to catch and fry the fucker.

More importantly, as the article says, is turning Jimmy Olsen into an Alfred clone. That's a unique step in the Super-mythos and I think a very interesting and natural one.
the trouble with the super solar flare being used as a way of defeating him is it's easy to become too formulaic. Every new villain trying to get him to use the power so they can beat him while he recharges is the same as every single villain having access to a kryptonite. Pretty soon, none of his powers will matter because every single conflict will be based on his post solar flare state.
I read it. Didn't really think much about it except they fixed Superman's boots. JR Jr. needs to go back to drawing Spider-Man or Daredevil.

Azzarello has been doing this with Wonder Woman. Turns out she is the daughter of Zeus, not made of clay, after all. The bracelets are a power inhibitor. When she takes them off, she goes all cosmic and can trash a Greek god (Artemis got her arse handed to her in a single page the first time it happened). But its a heavyweight boxer solution: one punch can kill, so she keeps the bracelets on.

I used to read a lot of Superman as a kid. During the 1960s-70s it seemed half of North America was made of Kryptonite so I understand the concern (every fricking bank robber had Green K in his inside jacket pocket), but hopefully writers are a bit more sophisticated nowadays.
i quite liked azz's run on wonder woman. i never liked a WW run before, and i stuck through all 30(?) issues of that one.

the superman books, however, are seemingly the most disappointing part of the new 52 for me. morrison's take was the most fun of the bunch, at least at parts, but also pretty confusing in others (was this a flashback? alternate line? did... did the time just change in the same story?!). the rest very quickly became "standard superman books", which were always (very) heavy on dialog, light on interest.

in this most recent re-re-relaunch of the past few weeks, i gave it another look, but didn't find any of it fun. cuz of the shit art.
Who are you again?

Morrie's take on Superman recently was just plain trippy, with that weird Mxypltk thing.
don't call Mxy's thing trippy.
I wouldn't be fucking Robinson Crusoe on that observation.

John Romita Jr did a stint on Hulk and X-men. Never liked his art. Men are hunched over and have broad noses.
Romita Jr was a decent, if not better that average, artist back in the 80s when he was more or less trying to ape his dad's stuff. At some point, however, he got tired of living in daddy's shadow and decided to radically change his style so it didnt look like the old man's.

The problem was, his father was actually a good artist. As a result, Junior ended up banishing the stuff in his own work that actually made it competent.

Good grief.
Supershart.
GAH!
I can't unsee that now. Thanks SOM!!
I'm surprised Marvel has not removed all pictures of white Nick from the internet.
How about a Black Panther and Eric Masterson to cleanse the palate:

T'challa looks like he's packing a fun size snickers bar under that speedo
He calls his butt Vibranium, because it absorbs vibrators.
Rectum?
...kind of baffled. Since when did Marvel so obviously push for a gay audience?
