Stewart should prepare better if he ever wants to win a debate with Bill.

Stewart's argument is that other artists such as Eric Clapton have written about cop killers (such as Eric Clapton) and still been invited to the White House.

But that argument bypasses the cop killer in question (Chesimard, who Common argues in the song is innocent and falsely accused) has a long record of violence, and fled to radical marxist Cuba, where she lives to this day. And that Common went to Cuba and visited the convicted escaped cop killer.

Common has written separate songs that lionize two separate cop killers(Chesimard, and Abu-Jamal), and another song that ("burn the Bush") similarly advocates killing then-president Bush.

But hey, y'know, other than that Common hasn't said anything that should exclude him from a White House invitation.

Common is also a member of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church and indoctrinated in Black Liberation Theology, and thus yet another manifestation of Obama's ties to radicalism.
As if his lyrics advocating the killing of cops and Bush weren't enough.
Posted By: Wonder Boy Re: Stewart and O'Reilly Debate - 2011-05-18 5:07 PM
Something I didn't pick up before is that Common alleges Chesimard's innocence, and then simultaneously defends her as a "soldier" "fighting for [his] freedom."

That would indicate that common does believe she's innocent of the crime, but simply agrees with her cause and thinks that should acquit her from punishment.

Stewart is clearly bristling with emotion throughout the interview, and at best comes up with equivalency arguments that circumnavigate that Obama knows these cop killers are guilty, Stewart knows these cop killers are guilty, and Common himself (though clouded in evasive language) knows these cop killers are guilty, and Common therefore has no business being at the White House.

I also love the point where Stewart boils over (at 5:55) and just goes into a sweeping rant about Fox News. With nothing to back it up, of course, beyond pure emotion.

Finally, what the fuck is that thing on Common's head at 8:05 into the video?
His grandmother's wig?

For all the dressing of this as some sort of "artist", the guy is just an over-rated goof.

For what it's worth, I don't think Bono should have been allowed inside the white house either. The guy sucks.

Also, it seems that Stewart's defense is the usual "[they] did it first."

They should have also brought up that even outside of the copkiller supporter thing-the things that Bono (even if he comes off as a fake/hypocrite) and Springsteen advocate are far better than the one Common advocates.

Yeah, Hurricane Carter, from the Dylan song, actually was proven innocent.

The Randy Weaver thing in Bono's song actually did raise a legitimate issue about rights violated by police and causing an unnecessary shootout.

Whereas Common basically advocates for two people who killed cops indiscriminantly in the name of some racially motivated violent revolution.

Fixed it for you.

Again, Pro, you accuse others of partisanship, even as you just repeat the liberal talking points.
You seem completely oblivious to your own clear liberal bias, to the point that you are incapable of even understanding any other perspective.

You quote Jon Stewart and Colbert as if they were news sources.

I quote them as if they're hilarious. And correct. Which, in the original debate up top, Stewart is.

I don't see Stewart utterly destroying Bill. It actually seemed like they weren't really debating, they were too polite to each other (but then again, maybe that's just because I don't fall in with either party, so I'm not exactly rooting for either).

Although Pro, I'm just curious - you seem to be rooting for Stewart, but disregarding both him and Reilly, and even Obama and inviting a poet in the white house - what do you think about Common as a role model? (I believe their debate eventually devolved into trying to put down or justify Common's support of the copkiller)

P.S.

Just to get this out of the way: I'm racist against Common, so there.

And, as per usual, I'm sure every other fan of Stewart is gonna say the exact same thing.

All Stewart and Colbert have to do is speak and their lapdogs applaud them regardless of the validity of their points.

Really takes the piss out of anything they or their zombies have to say.

Honestly? I'm just stirring/smoking the pot. I post something slightly bent to the Left, and then watch to see who bites. If I had a real opinion about the whole thing, it's that Stewart makes more of a valid point about the inconsistency of FOX's message, and their "manufactured outrage". Basically it just says their message is that whites are okay to go to the White House no matter what they say or do, but not blacks.

As far as Common himself, and his material, I don't know the first thing about either. And frankly, don't care. What's this fantasy "sanctity" of the White House? The biggest crooks ever have set there. Look all the criminal politicians that have strolled those halls openly. You think I care if one of the many poets that spoke in a "who gives a shit" event happened to be a black rapper that once sang a song about some chick from the 70's that shot a cop? Give me a break. Rove, Cheney, and Rumsfeld killed thousands for oil. Look at the manufactured lies we went to Vietnam over. How many died there? A rapper sang a song once, somewhere, away from the White House? Who gives a flying fuck? Only the ignorant children who see the world as some single-layered cartoon, I suppose...

Stewart and O'Reilly debates are the political equivalent of professional wrestling. You can tell they are sort of fake, no one really wins and each one's fans declare victory for their side.

So yeah. "Broked" sounds accurate enough.

You confessed to Whomod himself how you worship his posts on the insurgency forum, that BSAMS re-posted here.
And at the same time fronted here on RKMB that you don't approve of Whomod-level far-left craziness, even as you praised him behind our backs as the "best poster ever" on RKMB.
