Back in 1999 DC published this comic that was basically an anthology of short elseworlds stories (a lot of comedy ones),but after printing the issue DC decided that one particular story could cause a lot of problems & pulped the whole run except a few issues that were already shipped to the UK (estimated at somewhere between 500 & 1000 issues).
The story in question was about Clark Kent as a baby with a baby sitter trying to catch him (kinda like the movie Babys day out) and ended up with Superbaby being microwaved!
DC felt the backlash from a baby being microwaved could be too much!

I think Wizard value this issue at around $200 but I've heard of it going for a lot more!

The starting price is around $36!

Highly unlikely that they would reprint that story!

Other stories were a story bout all the rubber based heroes (Elongated man etc) being zombies!

A story bout Lex Records & various superheroes as rockstars rather than heroes.

A story in the style of the daily funnies with Black Canary & Batgirl (Babs) sharing an apartment!

A Superman Jr/Batman Jr story!

A story bout Superman being president!

A story where Supermans rocket ship crashes into Gotham killing Bruce Waynes parents & Lex Luthor adopts young Kal as his son!

A bunch of Silverage style elseworlds splash pages!

A strange Superman futeresque story!

The Kyle Baker Superbaby story that has a baby Clark climbing into a microwave and getting nuked was put into Bizarro Comics, a hardback collection of shorts done by various comic book creators with Dorkin bookending it with a story involving Bizarro and Mxyzptlk.

It tends to put you immediately at a disadvantage and IMO is a sign of true weakness.
