That was a combined effort.

When Sammitch and I had our feud, I made mention of wanting to try a heel turn. Unfortunately, it didn't go anywhere at the time. However, about three or four weeks ago, the idea of actually doing the heel turn full-force was brought up again. The way the idea was presented - no names used to protect identity - had me excited. I was going to do a full heel turn.

The match you read was as much Chris' creation as mine. The items used, the entrances, the attacks - full collaboration on Chris' and my parts. Once the final part of the match was worked out (the betrayal and the turn), I wrote up the match. It was the fastest Recap I've ever written. It was easy and fun to write. The best parts, for me, were:

1)Getting battered with a Sunday Globe

2) Almost getting run-down with a hot dog cart (two items Chris recommended)

3) The Sam Adams dump (another Oakley recommendation)

4) The Red Sox Trophy (a last-minute inspiration based on the final outcome)

I've waited almost a full month to talk about this - my partner-in-crime will tell you that the suspense has been killing me. I hope, as certain things happened, you thought "OH! So THAT'S what he meant when he said that!" And, when the final betrayal was revealed, you were surprised, shocked, pissed off...whatever. That was my goal - to give you at least one match that'd make you say some variation of "wow".

Regarding the Rumble as a whole, I want to say "thank you" to PenWing, who was a huge help in getting the match Recaps done quickly and well. The Women's Boobie Match and the Hardcore Triple Threat Matches were mostly (75%+) his work, with a few ideas tossed in by me. To James and Charlie, all I can say is "great work". I expanded on the stuff you two did, but your Recaps gave me a lot to play with. It's a pleasure to have you two on the roster. And, to my fallen opponent, Chris Oakley: this was a fun feud...one I don't see ending anytime soon. Thank you.

Okay, enough niceness, kudos, and assorted gayness. I'm a heel now - that means it's time to tear things up in the RDCW. Look forward to getting your asses kicked in 2005, boys!!!

Regarding the swerve and the firing of Chris and James.

I created the Louie Bastardo persona in an effort to bring a little more variety to the RDCW, and also to see if I could help some people out who were struggling with the fact that they weren't doing as well as they felt like they should. Chris Oakley and King Snarf became the first two to join this new Bastardo Family, and they've done amazingly well. I think they've both hit their stride and found their niche.

Now storyline wise, Chris and James Fantastic initiated this Bastardo Family split angle without consulting anyone else in the group. Which annoyed me somewhat, because I felt the group as it was still had a ways to go. I wanted to see Nuriko get the Women's belt and JF get the Lightweight belt and have the group dominate for a bit longer before starting something like this.

Oh, well. *shrugs* I have been in contact with Chris since the angle, although I did not let him know about the upcoming swerve (element of surprise and all). Glad you dug it.

But this way plays into what they wanted. The video angle is not ruined, nor even really affected. And we now have the split group that Chris and James seem to have wanted.

On one side Bastardo Family 2.0: Snarf, Louie, JM, and Grace. On the other: Chris, James (yes? no?), Nuriko, Tommy, and Los Monstrous.

As far as notice of termination, the way it's presented in Louie's dialogue in the recap is correct. Remember back, a couple of weeks ago on Havoc, Louie gave everyone a choice. They could come back together as a group, or else. They made their choices, and Louie made his. Notice was given. If people do not pay attention to that, it can't be helped.

You have to remember, this is a fluid, responsive thing here and you need to be aware that when you initiate an angle that someone else may have a counterangle in return. That's just the nature of something like this. Which is why we need to work with each other as much as possible.

It's all good to work out our own angles and what we want to do, but we also have to realize that others are doing the same and be prepared to sometimes compromise and accomodate someone else.

Fair enough.

James is definetely gone from the Bastardo clan. He was fired, after all. And I have other plans for him now.

On the video angle, I agree that it isn't ruined, but it's a bit more diffuse. The angle has switched to Chris vs. Snarf and Joe, as opposed to general confusion about the traitor. I don't object to that, but it does make it a bit more difficult to run with it.

Also, Chris's video thing was entirely his own idea. I didn't know about it until after the first post.

Your CHOICE of opponent would've been Roy Batty. But your CHOICE of opponent has always been subject to approval by the RDCW board of directors. And a non poster to challenge for the big title at RobbleMania? Please. . .

Trust me, I had taken all that into account, it would've been a GREAT angle.

I have an idea for Nuriko, when the next Havoc is posted. Not telling anyone, since I want to keep it a surprise, but let's just say she's not happy about the current situation. Yes, very unhappy indeed. You'll just have to watch, cause you don't wanna miss this!

This is exactly the point that has been made all along about involving other characters in your angles, nicely put!
There are plenty of non-posting characters that can be used in big angles, but if another regular poster is involved in an angle they should always be consulted first.

I for one would be very pissed off if for instance Joe Mama or Grimm (two guys that have had some connection with Nowhereman in the past) started posting anything big regarding Nowhereman (or any other likenesses) without consulting me first.
Lets say Grimm decided to make a post where the Hellions reformed, that would totally ruin where I'm going with my character.
If I then decided to write something that ruined Grimms direction,he would have no case to argue against it........you reap what you sow!

I back what Louie has done to get his angle back on course,he actually did it without ruining Oakleys angle,so more power to him.

In recent times I have used other characters in promos without contacting that person first, but in each case it has not deviated from their character or affected any of their storylines in a big way.
If I feel that my plans are more involving (like the time I attacked the Bastardos as Mystery man) I will contact at least one of the other parties to OK the move before I run with it.

The RDCW belongs to all of you who take part guyz n galz, but please remember some of us have a lot more invested in this, with all the work it took to get us to where we are now,and we'd hate to see it deteriorate into a place that aint fun to post anymore!

And on that note I'd like to take this opportunity to thank those guys who have taken the RDCW to where it is now.
Thanx to Grimm & thedoctor who not only helped me in the early days, but took on the main responsibilities when it became dificult for me to devote the kind of time needed to keep this forum running.
Thanx to Joe Mama, for stepping up & doing the same for Grimm & doc.
And now also thanx go to PenWing for the new co-ordination he has brought to the recaps.

I know this might sound like some kind of Oscars acceptance speech, but its now a full year since this started out & many said this would not last, but here we are & we are bigger than ever!
Hats off to posters like King Snarf,Notwedge,Sammich & Chris Oakley for what they have done over the last year, and welcome to guys like James & Charlie, lets make the RDCWs second year an even better one than the first!

*ps: If I didnt mention your name, dont feel bad its just that Joe Mama wrote this speech for me & he prolly doesnt like you!*

I had to work late tonight. I'll get that out to you shortly. Great speech, btw.

Well done to all this years winners.

Believe me everything was done as fairly as possible.
Will try to go with a better process next year as there were many categories that everyone voted for something different & it had to go with a comittee points voting system!

Hopefully the new system will also encourage more people to vote!

Hopefully!!

So this is whats going to happen from now on? Everything is going to be one big joke? Is it going to be impossible to do anything serious here from now on? It's not fair!

Cool. Well done, all the winners, especially Notwedge. You rule! I voted for you to win the rumble an' all!

Anyway, let's get the new Havoc started. The sooner we do that the sooner we can set in motion all the cool plans we have for NWOOTC and Robblemania.

Thanks everyone. It's good to know I'm not just entertaining myself.
