I don't have a problem with swearing. I do it a lot. But I'm starting to wish there was less of it in films.

Hell even Scooby Doo has "ass" in it.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be any, or that it should be officially controlled in some way, but wouldn't it be nice if someone made an intelligent film, aimed at adults with no swearing in it.

Most of it is unnecessary and used merely for effect, to create so called realistic dialogue.

I'm not saying I'd change a word of Pulp Fiction, or remove one 'uncle fucker' from the South Park Movie, but I just think it would be nice.

Would Twelve Angry Men be a better film if Henry Fonda said Mother Fucker?

I completely agree, Steve T. While some of my favorite films are laden with profanities and expletives, it grows weary and tiresome. Love your Twelve Angry Men example. Such a great movie! As are Citizen Kane and Casablanca (also with no swearing)...

It's always fun looking for the one allowed fuck in PG-13 movies... I remember thinking that Dodgeball had not taken advantage of this, and then there it was, the very last line of the movie.

Does anyone know what the standards are? I think its three fucks and you get an R. Fareinheit 911 had motherfucker in it. An automatic R. Thats something Moore fought until right before the movie was released. What about nudity? I've seen boobs in PG-13 movies.

Who gives a fuck,I hear more swearing in real life than I do on films!
Am I offended? No!
Its just words fer fucksake!

And yes,I'm purposely using swear words!

I actually hate the fact that some films are so unrealistic because they try to "save us" from being offended because a few words!

The MPAA ratings board is made up of a group of parents who are not connected with the movie industry. They watch the movies and determine the rating based on how they feel other American families would react to the material. So there's really no formula. That's why movies that received R ratings in the past would only get PG-13 today.

It tends to put you immediately at a disadvantage and IMO is a sign of true weakness.

I think the first Superman movie should be rated R!

I mean, he's checking Lois' panties out with his x-ray vision, and, don't tell me that he "accidentally" grabbed her ass during that tripping moment in the Daily Planet-- the man is a god! He was coping a feel because he COULD! And, he defied his own father's wishes by reversing time. That type of behaivior leads to rebelliousness! Such an amoral movie. I'm offended.

And could someone please tell him to put his underwear on the inside of his pants?
