Just went back to Uncharted 2 to finish it on crushing level.
Quite funny that I gave up on it months ago cause I got stuck on one bit, and today I pretty much just breezed through it once I cleared that bit.

2nd platinum!

Currently playing the first Uncharted again on crushing difficulty.
I honestly believe the first game was more difficult.
Just over half way through and it certainly seems to be more challenging.

They made the second one easier because some pussies complained about there being too many enemies.

Right now I'm playing the Just Cause 2 demo. Surprisingly fun. It feels like what Mercenaries 2 should have been--with a few things missing here and there.

Finished Uncharted last night for my third platinum.
Fucking tough game.
Certainly glad they got rid of some aspects though.

Played the Just Cause demo on Thurs. Didnt like it.

God of War III

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for the PS2

I played the fuck out of MUA on the PC with all the graphics settings maxed, so MUA2 on the PS2 looks like somebody shat in a plate and painted it red, blue, and yellow. The graphics kind of threw me out of the loop at first, but once I got that out of the way, the game is as enjoyable as the first one. The character selection is 50/50, I like that Hulk is now playable, but hate the fact that Blade is still there. Who the fuck cares about Blade? What a boring piece of shit character.

I like how you are now made to choose between being pro registration or anti, but I don't know yet if it makes a lot of difference other than not being able to choose specific characters. I've only just chosen Anti-Reg, because Capt. America > Iron Man

Iron Man will always be > than Cap, you silly slitty eyed fool.

Legends of Wrestling II for the Gamecube

It is shit and its death will be rejoiced.

The only things I like about it is the roster (finally, I get to play Tito Santana in a videogame!), and the graphics, which is very nostalgic for me because the wrestlers look like 80s action figures. The gamecube has a crisper, higher resolution (which lends itself well to cel-shaded, cartoony and non-realistic art designs) than the PS2(which is blurred and pixelized, but has better texturing capabilities, which makes it ideal for lifelike rendering)

Unfortunately, the rest is crap. The FMVs are lo-res and short, probably because the GC disc has limited space, the animation is jerky and don't transition well between frames, the arena is stale, and the grappling system is stupid. I've played SNES wrestling games that were more fun. (The main bit that kills it is that the game is fast paced, with single button counters and the usual grapple+direction schtick, but the controls are extremely sluggish and you would be too concerned about getting the right timing that you'd miss whatever is going on at the screen)

Also, I noticed that failed Wrestling games tend to mess up on the pacing. They either make the game too slow or too fast (most of these even treat wrestling games like a Fighting game ala tekken).

I bought the first one when it came out on the PS2 years ago.
I took advantage of the no questions asked refund policy at Electronics Boutique, and got my money back the next day.
I told the girl behind the counter that it was shit, and she said "But its got Hulk Hogan in it!"

I tried Wrestlemania X8 for the Gamecube this time.

It's playable, with a grappling system that seems like a cross between WWE Smackdown from the PS1 and WCW Mayhem for the N64. The graphics are so-so, the wrestlers are detailed enough for you to recognize who is who, but the overall quality is still subpar, and the angles kind of make the wrestlers look squished (similar to the camera angles in WWF Warzone/Attitude).

It's good enough for a few minutes, but you're bound to get sick of it afterwards-the animations are jerky and unnatural, with the wrestlers looking like they're on roller skates when walking. And every match seems stupid; all you're going to do is powermove after one powermove, since running attacks look lame and are not very effective, ditto for submissions.

I've pretty much given up on the gamecube when it comes to wrasslin games. It seems Here comes the pain and SD vs RAW 2006 on the PS2 is the best I can get for that generation of virtual wrasslin'.

What about Day of Reckoning?

Day of Reckoning is okay, the grappling system reminds me of WWF No Mercy for the N64. The graphic engine is better than the other wrasslin games on the cube, but the animation still doesn't look as fluid as the ones on the PS2 WWE games.

Day of Reckoning 2, I don't know because the emulator I use doesn't support it, and crashes as soon as you leave the menu.

Metroid Prime.

I had misgivings at first, because I suck at FPS when using a gamepad instead of a mouse/keyboard combo, but Metroid Prime was surprisingly easy and intuitive.

The auto aiming does not ruin anything as far as autonomy and illusions are concerned, because I'm supposed to be wearing an extremely advanced armor, there's gotta be an auto aiming feature in there. Also, like Simone Simons of Epica, I am a hot chick underneath all of that metal.

The best Nintendo game I've played.

I hate first person shooters, I mean, Wolfenstein 3D gave me headaches. So many ways to go! But Metroid Prime was pretty cool.

I'm the same way. Metroid Prime and Portal are the only two first person games I've loved.

New Super Mario Brothers Wii (not a real word). So awesome. I don't have a Wiimote but the control scheme uses the wii mote sideways, much like a gamepad, so I was able to map the buttons to a standard PC gamepad and everything was alright. The Wiimote shaking action, I had to map to a button.

Bleach Versus Crusade. This one supports the Gamecube controller so my trusty gamepad was enough. Game had awesome graphics, and a control scheme that wasn't stupid. Unfortunately, the fighting engine was lacking. Blocking is done automatically and rarely happens when you need it, and parrying has a very low success rate. The fights themselves are akin to my first sexual experience; too fast to be enjoyable and extremely messy. There's way too many things going on at once and you tend to get lost in all of the activity (and I hate the partner system. Why does every fighting game nowadays need a tag system?)

What Wii emulator do you use? Would it work in my crappy laptop? My specs are: it's a crappy laptop.

Dolphin. It's a GC and Wii emulator (the wii support is better than its gamecube support, but you need a real wii mote because using the mouse sucks).

But I've seen youtube videos of laptops playing games on it with playable enough speeds. It doesn't require a beefy graphics card, and a DX9 one will do.
