I wonder if the fact that this movie's going to suck cock n' balls will turn non Bat-fans off from going to see the upcoming Batman flick. Your average movie-goer will probably get confused as hell.

Amen, my man, amen! [biiiig grin]

I actually had the pleasure of meeting her back in May at the Motor City Comic Con. She was daffy, she was nutty, she was charming and personable...she was just a total blast to be around, even for a few minutes. I liked her a lot, and I'm glad I had the chance to meet her. All too often you find out that a lot of beautiful women are mean as hell in real life, but Miss Newmar was just a really cool chick, a class act all the way.

As far as I'm concerned, she still owns the role of Catwoman. Only Adrienne Barbeau from the FOX run of the animated series comes close (I didn't care for the changes they made to her during the WB run).

It makes about as much sense as any of the rest of the movie will....

October 16, 2003: A scoop on the Halle Berry flick hit the other day on "The Daivd Letterman Show" of all places. Whilst talking with Dave, Berry spoke a little about the role and more importantly how it fits into the context of the other Catwoman/Batman universe. First up its confirmed there's no special 'powers' for the character: "She can fight. She fights like a cat. You know, she doesn't have anything super-human, y'know? But she can do anything a healthy good tiger can do...she can do". The origin? "Well, she dies, like all the other Cat-Women...she dies and is reborn a Cat-Woman. But what's interesting about the take on this movie, is that we're not saying that my version of Catwoman is the only Catwoman...She is one of an army (of what we believe) of nine Cat-Women, so we leave room for Eartha Kitt, who was a great Catwoman, and Michelle Pfeifer, who was another awesome Catwoman. And I'm just another Catwoman, because we believe that there are nine". Thanks to DarkHorizons for the story.

October 9, 2003: "You've probably seen the Catwoman costume. I'm told that the first pic released was a shot from the near end of the film, and throughout most of the film Halle [Berry] will look more like the Michelle Pfieffer version. The costume will be upgraded as they say. You might also want to know that Halle might be trying to get out of the sequel clause....hmmm". Thanks to DarkHorizons.com for the scoop.

October 7, 2003: "Fans will get their first official look at the upcoming 2004 Warner Brothers/ Village Roadshow film, CATWOMAN! This December, the films teaser trailer debuts. It will appear on select copies of New Line Cinema's LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING, which gets a December 17th release.

I cannot tell you the details of the trailer, as work has barely begun on making a teaser, but this is the film the WB wants to premiere it with, as their looking forward to CATWOMAN being one of their tentpole, blockbusters of the Summer, and they want everyone to know that a Catwoman film is coming!" Thanks to a scopper from Superherohype.com

October 2, 2003: The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Alex Borstein has joined and now Michael Massee is also on board the Catwoman cast. Borstein, best known for her comedic work on Fox's "Mad TV," will play Berry's best friend. Her other credits include "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" and "Showtime." Massee will get the chance to go toe-to-toe with Berry by playing the heavy. His credits include "24," "Amistad" and "Lost Highway." Thanks to SuperHeroHype.com

October 1, 2003: According to actress Alex Borstein's (MAD TV, Family Guy) official site, she is joining the cast of Warner Brothers' 'Catwoman' movie, starring Halle Berry, which recently started shooting in Vancouver. Now word on who she'll be playing.

Im really dissapointed in their choice of Halle Berry while a decent actress I found her too campy as Storm and from interviews Ive seen her in she sees superheros as silly.

Well ok fair enough but can she please explain why they are all called Selina Kyle & they all live in Gotham!

I think those may have been props from one of the episodes she did.

Nevertheless, she's still the best Catwoman of them all. [wink]

My reactions throughout this whole story are best described through smilies.

I hear several months ago that Halle's going to be Catwoman: [woooOOOOoooo!] [woooOOOOoooo!] [woooOOOOoooo!]

I see the pictures: [whaaaa!] -

I think about how bad the movie will be: [DOH!] [no no no] [worst. icon. ever.]

I don't even understand how this can be her real suit. I've seen pictures of her in magazines on the set in a costume that looks just like the one from the comic. Whatever happened to that one? It looked great, especially compared to this trainwreck-

According to a source close to the film who posts at Superhero Hype! (and who blames WB's failure with DC-based projects--especially the Peters/Abrams/McG "re-imagining" of Superman--on the fans' not being open-minded enough to accept them), this costume IS the real deal. Berry's Patience Price will wear different costumes throughout the movie, with this suit coming in near the end. Think of it as being akin to Batman Forever's publicity revolving around Batman wearing the silver prototype armor when he actually spent 90% of the film wearing the traditional black movie suit.

All I can say about the pic is

I mean, seriously, what else can we do?

I have no intention of seeing this movie. None.

If it was based on Brubaker's comic, that's another story.

But, WB has no clue what they are doing.

And this...Catwoman...

It's sad. It really is.

Patience Price? I thought her name was Selina Kyle! And what's this about her being one of nine Catwomen? None of this makes any sense to me.
This will turn out to be what the British call a complete and utter cock-up. [you sunnuva...]

Guys, this movie is a slap in the face to us REAL Catwoman, and batman, fans.

All one has to do is search every Catwoman movie message board on the net, and they's see reaction, not only from fans but regular movie-goers as well, is unanimously negative.

I say we all for some kind of web-ring. WB can still attempt to screw us, even after "Batman and Robin"--why not do the same to them? [mwah hwah haa] [mwah hwah haa]

This movie is gonna bomb! [biiiig grin] [biiiig grin]

It's sad, really...WB could be doing a faithful adaptation of the Selina Kyle/Catwoman and make a damn fine movie.... [sad]
