NEW MOVIE: “STING—Moment of Truth” Depicts Radical Transformation of Wrestling Superstar

Life was one high-flying act for wrestling superstar Steve Borden, a.k.a. “Sting.” Donning his outrageous black and white face paint and costume, Sting stormed to the top of the wrestling profession. He captivated more than half a billion people worldwide. Ten times he captured the World Championship Wrestling title. Twice he pinned wrestling legend Hulk Hogan. Sting reaped the money and popularity of being an international superstar.

Behind the costume and the glamour of big time wrestling, though, Steve Borden was pinned flat on his back. His life was in shambles. Steve’s marriage faltered on the brink of failure. His addiction to prescription drugs was destroying him. The champion of the world and the inventor of the Scorpion Death Lock was now seeing his world crash down upon him.

But then a miracle happened. Facing the biggest challenge of his life, Steve Borden found his life and marriage dramatically transformed. How did this wrestling champion conquer the biggest battle of his life?

The story of Sting’s transformation is now dramatically depicted in the highly anticipated new movie, STING—Moment of Truth.

Presented by Dove Canyon Films and directed by George King, STING—Moment of Truth, is not for the timid. It throws the viewer into the ring and presents the raw brute force that is professional wrestling. It also depicts the incredible story of how God brought peace to a wrestler after wrestling the self-sufficient and prideful champion to his knees.

From Scorpion Death Lock to Spiritual Life, STING—Moment of Truth is the story of a transformed life that was on the brink of destruction. The movie also includes feature appearances by mega-superstars Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Randy Savage.

STING—Moment of Truth is being released to retailers on October 12, 2004.
This order will be filled by www.CHRISTIANMOVIE.NET (517-841-4000).

I love Sting, but the fact that this is about his "transformation" anot is being released by a Christian company - I have a feeling that this is going to be REALLY preachy.

Inventor of the scorpion deathlock....sure, JQ, suuuure...

This goes out to Sting, Hogan, and HBK: Don't use God to get yourselves over. If you're born again, good for you. But, don't say you love God, then go blade yourself in front of 20,000 fans.

And god said, "Thou shalt piledrive thine enemies into submission!"

Seriously though, I think they're not using God as a means to get over. As I'm quite sure they've realized that religious gimmicks actually cause them to lose a certain amount of overness with fans.

I think their fault is that they are too commited to their religion to keep it aside when it comes to working.

Cant say I've ever seen HBK or Hogan use their religion as a gimmick.
As SOM said, anyone who does use religion as a gimmick is usually a heel & does not go over well with the fans!

Rev D-von comes to mind, but I doubt that he bombed because of the gimmick itself. D-von just plain sucks as a singles competitor.

As for Dustin....I have no idea.

I don't recall any of those wrestlers mentioned as using their religion to try to get over, including the more overtly religious, such as Hogan or Michaels.

Sting has pretty much always kept his religion (and his private life as a whole) out of the spotlight, and that's how it should be.

All they've done is changed how they've worked. Sting did a heel turn after becoming spiritual. He did pretty much everything the same except he refused to curse. Remember those promos he did with Lex Luger where he'd stop short of saying ass?

What'with fucked-up wrestlers turning into religious nuts?
Just switching from one addiction to another... At least it's healthier. So he stopped using his prescribed drugs and let God kill his pains?
