It was good, until the end when they showed vaughn. They kill him off, but he's still been in every other episode. Just finish the damn show already.

There's Only One Sydney Bristow (100th Episode)

In the milestone 100th episode of the award-winning spy drama, Sydney's maternity leave is cut short when she learns that Will (Bradley Cooper) has been abducted by her nemesis, Anna Espinosa (Gina Torres). Meanwhile, Sloane finds himself one step closer to obtaining the cure for daughter Nadia.

Will has a bomb implanted in his head.

Ok I liked the nods to season 2, Syd's wig, rescuing Will, and of course turning Anna into a Freplica but what I don't get is...

WHY? What the fudge does Profit 5 want and why turn Anna into Syd's double?

Dooode this is going to kill me knowing there's only 4 episodes left and they're NOW doing this. I REALLY hope they don't kill Syd and replace her with Anna, that aint right.

Did I hear it wrong or did Syndey say that she knew Vaughn was alive?

No, you heard that right. At the end of last week's ep she asked Jack to tell him about the baby, but she never finished the sentence. Jack cut her off and said he'd take care of it. All she got out what "Could you take care of..." or something along those lines. I'll have to watch my tape again for the exact wording.

But she felt bad about telling Will that Vaughn's dead but had to.

I think the best line was after Jack dropped the and Syd runs into the kitchen worried. He tells her how she shouldn't leave sharp edged objects around with a baby, then Syd points out she's only 5 weeks old. Jack's response is something about Never leave sharp objects around young Bristow girls.

Makes you wonder if something happend when Syd was a baby/little that she doens't remember. :p

The first season was good, the second was excellent, they it went to hell for the third season. The fourth and fifth seasons have been ok.

the problem is that the whole point of the show was her trying to balance her lives. the spy aspect was always suposed to be this secret burden she hid from her closest friends.
then by year 3 they stripped away any non-spy friends and made it this non-stop story arc and mythology. and in doing so they stripped the whole point of the show.

plus there's too many shifts with sloane. since year 3 its been good bad good bad. there comes a point where they need to realize that he's betraying them every march and shoot him in february.

Sloane has never been a good guy, he's always had his own agenda, and what he was trying to do in controling people doesn't make him a good guy at all.

As for the whole story arc thing, they've been doing that since the first episode. Each episode is tied into the next and Rambaldi's been around since then as well.

but they set him up as a good guy. i'm not talking about looking at sloane in the big picture with hindsight. i'm saying as a viewer watching. they set up his reform in year 3 and waited awhile to show he was bad. then they did the same in year 4. year 5 they're showing that he has ulterior motives right away, but the characters think he's good.
its basically the same plot repeated over and over again.

Its a seriously flawed story arc. Nothing real has been revealed. Its all been device this, prophecy that, but no real revealation. You can tell Abrams learned his lesson from this in Lost. Lost has made a point to set up mysteries and reveal them leading to new mysteries and the grand picture. but they still have the sense of revealation.

the problem with Rambaldi is that ABC has always been against it. Thats why it seems so inconsistent.

30 Seconds

Sloane is distressed to learn that Prophet Five's cure for Nadia is just as likely to kill her. Meanwhile, the search for Anna Espinosa continues, Rambaldi's prophetic Page 47 resurfaces, and Sydney offers Renée a job at APO. Mia Maestro guest stars.

First off, how stupid was Rene when Anna walked in? She saw what Sydney was wearing, obviously she didn't go back to the hotel and change. And yet she let herself be killed? That was such an amature move.

Anyway, on to the rest of the ep. Nice to see Sloane be stupid and kill his own kid over Rambaldi.

Did anyone else catch the Rambaldi eye in the paper as it burned? that was so frickin COOL!

So how much you wanna bet Vaughn won't even be able to tell the difference between freplica and the real Syd? Or at least I can hope he's that stupid.

sorry I still don't like him and Syd as a couple. I can tolerate Vaughn as a seperate entity while Syd had a life. But those two together just don't work. She's way better off with Will. I've been saying this since season 1 and I'll continue to say it well after the final episode!

Not enough Jack but what little we had was still great.

Only if the viewer was an idiot. We knew Sloane to be evil and knew he had an agenda, that's been a given since the pilot episode. If you were dumb enough to buy into him reforming then you're too stupid to watch Alias.

I think the network has more to do with that than Abrams. Look at the way ABC has raped Alias. They'll preempt it any time they want, all but pull it off the air for crappy specials and other crap, while they treat other shows better. I watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition and that's treated with the utmost respect by ABC. The show is now 2 hours long, is almost never not on, if another show is going to air during its normal timeslot, they'll go out of their way to put EMHE an hour earlier or something.

Trust me, ABC is the one that screwed Alias over since day one.

well fuck you too, little lady. I bought his going good in year 3, was extremely doubtful in year 4, and knew it was bs in year 5 (of course they showed him cutting the deal).
the thing is, they keep playing the plot is what's ridiculous. how dumb are jack and sydney to keep trusting him at all? and they do trust him, they're not playing their own angle, they trust him.

I partially agree. I think ABC has been shitting on the show for the last 2 seasons, but only after Alias took a hit in viewership with the time jump and less than beloved year 3. If it was still a strong hit, ABC would leave it alone.

That was the date on Nadia's hospital bracelet. I looked to see if that date had any meaning, but no episode was shown on that date and in "real world dates" it was before she was infected in the season finale. Does anyone know anything about this?

The first season was aired in fall 2001 and mentions homeland Security. The end of year 2 jumped ahead 2 years so right now the show should be in 2008.
Meaning Nadia was admitted around the time the 2nd season ended.

Quick thoughts on this.

ALIAS IS BACK WITH A VENGENCE!

OH man this one was not for the faint of heart. The last few minutes had me bitting my nails on the edge of my seat and even ignoring my phone.

As much as Vaughn annoyed me this season (for some reason I just couldn't stand him, probably because I'm not a Syd/Vaugn fan and since that's all he was since the end of last season...) he redeemed himself when he kicked Anna's tail from one end of that bunker to the other. My mom was so excited she kept saying she bet Sydney was going to show up while I was just freaking out when Anna grabbed the gun and was about to shoot Vaughn.

Loved tender Jack at Syd's house that was so great. I love how he opens up to Sydney now that she's a mother. It was cute the way he told her how she used to wake up at 4an on the dot. I laughed when Syd apologized for that knowing what torture it is now.

I knew Sark was going to show up again but I still freaked when I saw him. I first thought it was going to be Irina, then Jack (kind of looked like his walk and hands) then when they showed his face I think I screamed.

I can't beleive there is only 2 episodes left of this show. How can ABC do this to us.

THAT AINT RIGHT!

This was the Alias we have been missing. I think the reason is that they've had an ending of some sort planned out for some time, but they haven't been forced to execute until now. Now we're finally getting the endgame we've been waiting one season (season four was crap) too long for.

Series Finale on Monday.
My predictions.
Sydney will kill Sloan.
Dixon will sacrifice himself for someone else.
Jack will sacrifice himself for someone else, most likely the baby.
The two new characters will do something that no one will care about.
Sydney will save the world from ending and quit being an agent to become a full time mother.
The new blonde chick will walk around topless the whole two hours. Its the only way she can be entertaining.

Sydney will definitly kill Sloane

as for the rest, I doubt it.

I'm really hoping Jack, Syd, Dixon and a few others aren't killed off. I also hope JJ ends this so that there is a possibility for movies on the big screen at some point.

Two hour season finale tonight at nine.

This season only had 17 episodes. 16 and 17 air tonight.

In the first part of the two-hour Finale event, "Reprisal", Sloane takes Marshall and Rachel hostage in order to discover a crucial clue to Rambaldi's ultimate endgame, as Sydney, Vaughn and APO race to stop him. In the second part, "All the Time in the World", Sydney and Jack must find a way to keep Sloane and Irina from putting their deadly plan into action. Guest starring in "Reprisal" are Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn, David Anders as Julian Sark, Shaun Duke as first man, Mia Maestro as Nadia, Leland Crooke as third man, Rhett Giles as bartender, Boris Kievsky as driver, James M. Larmer as host, Austin Kemie as poolside waiter and Amanda Foreman as Carrie. Guest starring in "All the Time in the World" are Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn, Merrin Dungey as Francie, Lena Olin as Irina Derevko, David Anders as Julian Sark, Rachel Fox as young Sydney, Nicole Sessions as teacher, Thomas Lumberg, Jr. as man, David Negahban as foreman, Julia Di Angelo as Isabella, Liam Sullivan as technician and Daston Kalili as crew member.

That should say series finale.

I can't wait! Yet at the same time, I hate that the show is ending. I also hate that ABC screwed it by shortening the season to less than 20 episodes.

from my journal

Great ending but at the same time, man I was nearly balling at the end. I can't believe they killed off Jack. In all seriousness he's the one person I'd actually shed tears for. When Syd introduced Dixon to the little one I swear I started tearing up again.

I nearly lost it along with Syd when Jack was telling her she had to leave and she didn't want to.

I scremed at times out of fear/anticipation. I scremed out of frustration, I cheered as Syd, Jack, Vaughn and all took their turns at kicking butt.

I'm glad they ended it with the potential for movies, but I WISH they'd dome more for Jack. He went out great and we saw his love for his baby girl until the end, but I almost feel cheated by not seeing him past the blast. I mean a grave marker, mention his sacrifice, SOMETHING.

There's just so much and yet I'm almost speachless over it all.
