I might have enjoyed it more if I had not read the book. There was too much deviation from the source material.
V for Vendetta was a shallow action movie which resembled a very deep piece of comic book literature.
If they had stuck to the source maybe Nat would have done the nude scene.

Wrong. He WAS a terrorist. He died. Therefore the use of the present tense of the verb "to be" is inaccurate. And you should post pics of yourself.

I thought it was good. The sad thing is that it could have been great. The director seemed competent in his job (though I think the spinning blades bullshit was retarded). The main problem is that the book was told in Britian through British eyes; but the movie is told in Britian through American eyes. The Wachowskis updating the story to be anti-Bush really fucks up the presentation. How can you sit an American audience in front of a screen, flash pictures of Iraq and Afganistan in front of them, and then expect them to accept a hero who blows up buildings? As the Brothers W showed in their last two Matrix movies, they're just not as clever as their hype makes them think they are. Portman's accent is fucking terrible in the opening bit. But a lot of the rest of the acting is pretty good. Kudos to getting John Hurt to be Big Brother. A little 1984 irony which once again makes me sad. This movie should go down in the books next to classics like 1984 or Planet of the Apes. Instead, it'll wind up with the collection of films that "should have been great, but got bogged down" like Equalibrium.
