I'll just change the timeframe of my post for the next morning, as the point is to have everyone together to put their heads together. If someone needs to make a post that requires a timeframe before morning, then, just put "Before Pro's last post" or something at the top...

nothing a few name changes couldn't fix.

CJ!! Welcome back! And there go my plans for Lykopis....

Actually, I really have to thank you for two things. One, you didn't ditch Lykopis just because I got busy. Two, you did something I've always been afraid of doing. I've always worried that character development/change was next to impossible in this style of writing. Thank you for proving me wrong.

Actually, if you had any idea for Lykopis, toss 'em to me. It could work.

Grimm, I completely agree. Not all the eleven have to be in Vanguard. And, as we only have...what...three? spots left...I would be against ANY MORE CHARACTERS KNOWING at this time. Let's leave a little room to play with in the future, people....sheesh...

I totally agree. It would be nice if Jocasta came back, but there is no way I would want her to be part of the eleven. It would never work. I think we should leave those empty spots alone for now.

That being said, are you guys cool if Jocasta remains a threat? I really like the idea of her being Lykopis's arch-nemisis. The Lex Luthor to her Superman. I was taught about mirrors and foils in my literature classes, and I thought it would be cool to try those concepts with the pair.

We can all have foils, CJ. But, what their history is with each other has probably changed. While Lykopis remembers the true past, Jocasta was changed like everything else. How she was changed, and whether it affects their animosity with each other, is quite up to you.

But, I ask...as I do with everyone...let's wait for the second story before we start bringing in the bad guys. This story is just to get our bearings.

Besides....IF there is a bad guy in this one (and there might be something in the end) I call it for this story...

Nice work, Pro. You probably guessed that my other character, Leslie, is still alive, but I only used her in my initial post to set stuff up. I'm not writing her out or anything, because there are a few details I wanna break, but I know someone's gonna want to lay down the law on the one character per poster "rule", so don't worry about me using her to toy with that rule. I didn't realize so much had changed, but thanks very much for showing us that - really cool stuff.

go.

Ok...Pro's last post pretty much invalidated everything I've done over the past week, especially as concerns Prester John Sainte-Germaine...

How so, I-Man? As I've been saying, this is a whole new world. I've gone into great detail in this thread explaining that. What damage has it done? Also, I thought you were bringing in Merrick, not Prester? Am I missing something?

Phil: Glad you liked it. And yes, no Leslie. As always, that's what a solo is for...

Chewy: Mother-FUCKER!! That last post was nothing short of gobdamn brilliant! Grissom is a PERFECT example of what I was hoping others would do. A whole new character. Fuck. Simply brilliant. I cannot say enough good things.

I am bringing in Merrick, I just mean that the posts I made earlier involving Prester are now kinda weird since they involve concepts that seem to no longer exist.

I'm not being bitchy -- don't worry about that -- just commenting.

I may end up moving posts from here to the New MBL story I intercut some stuff with. The only problem maybe the Montag-Prester scene, so I may have to edit a few words here and there for that one...

Lemme do some creative tweaking...

You know me, man -- continuity is my drug!

I just transferred two of my Vanguard posts to where they'd fall instead in the MBL thread and rephrased a few spots in the Montag-Prester post to make better sense given the changes. The way I see it, Prester is here too, albeit unaware of what's up. Unless...

Now I'm just waiting for the Vanguardians to make a big enough public scene for a non-member like Richard Merrick to find them.

Patience, my son...patience...Cross will be awaiting the same thing. And, honestly? It may not come until the end of the story, or, the beginning of the next one. We're still establishing our groundwork with the old crew before we can take on the new ones as well...

I wouldn't have had problem with keeping Ed and Eddie name's in your post, Grimm, I think they could have been used as peripheral characters in the "new world".

The thing about Eddie was just about him being part of the team, even if he was not one of the eleven. Eddie-in-the-adult-body would have been in any case a very peculiar character, a sort of retard superhero in reverse... not an adult with the mind of a kid, but a kid with the mind of an adult. I would have had fun in writing him... (I know how the mind of a four years old kid works... I have one at my side right now), but it would have been a burden for the others... at last is what I think. He would have been a difficult character... needing to find a father and a mother figure... being very dependant and seeking independence... needing to learn everything...

Kudos to Doc for creating him, but I don't think it would have fit.

Chewy - very clever. The thought had occurred to me at one point that way too many people knew/remembered each other. Good work taking care of that.

But it could be based on that Lara Croft picture I saw once...

Something like these, maybe? Small, simple, just from over the eyebrow, down across the eye, stopping at the tip of the cheekbone?

Just suggestions...

Pro, I will let you do many things to my characters, but this is fashion...this is very very important to me...

Plus, let's not put too much on her face. She's now got a pretty big kick-ass scar, and there's no reason to detract from that.
