I don't mean equalize, but it sounded like the right word. What I mean is, how can I make Winamp keep a uniform volume level through different songs? I ask this because I have like 20 GBs of music in the computer and I like playing them in shuffle mode to pretend I'm listening to my own radio... sometimes I even take pauses and pretend I'm the DJ, then I call people and make interviews, but that's beside the point and I don't know why you brought it up. So, I could be listening to Long, Long, Long by The Beatles and I'd have to turn the volume all the way up to hear anything, but then the next track could be Search and Destroy by The Stooges and my ears would explode.

BTW, I put this in the political forum because sometimes I listen to political speeches by Ronald Reagan. They're better than ambient music.

I've never been able to get it to do that. I just use an MP3Gain queue to optimize synchronous volume.

I also have this problem, but I have no idea how to decipher your computer jargon, so please phrase the answers using comic book analogies.
