The first issue was good. About the only thing I didn't like was the ass kissing on page 2. Other than that the art was great and the writing was solid and there were lots of individual stories started. I love that kind of comic.

You have a "kiss my ass" list and you didn't like the ass-kissing on page two?

Why does there still need to be a JSA? Isn't that the point of the JLA?

I'd like to see a JSA series that took place in the Golden Age, but not in modern times.

They had that. It was called " All Star Squadron."

It was one of my very favorite comics. The first Crisis series killed it.

I think he means the "Justice Society", not "Roy Thomas' Golden Age Free-for-All". I loved ASS (yeah!) for its day. But, if they could get somebody like Dan Jolley (Liberty Files) to do a war-era Justice Society, in the same vein of Liberty Files and the like, that focused on spying, and behind enemy lines stuff, I'd be all over that. If they just made it "another superhero book", then, no...

Because DC thinks they can make a profit selling comic books written about them. And Geoff Johns, who pretty much can do what he wants these days, likes writing them.

Yes, but see No. 1.

Yeah, but that would require the writer to do research about WWII and try to not violate establish continuity. And the artist wouldn't be able to draw Power Girl boobies.

Well, I would have wanted to see a revived All Star Squadron, but since Crisis in 1985, it would be so fucked up that it could never be anywhere as good as it was in 1983, which was when it was at it's best.

I grew up reading old issues and reprints of the JSA, hence my fondness for the group.

Both, actually.

I also loved Thomas's "Invaders" series. Thomas has always been a favorite writer of mine, and he seems to have a genuine reverence for the Golden Age of comics.

Why not? They had boobies back in the 1940s.

Besides, who's gonna tell PG to cover up? Anyone who tried would get splattered against a wall.

And since when has DC cared about continuity?
