I want to see a comic book series about a guy (or gal) who travels through comic book universes killing off every character who was pointlessly resurrected from death (Jason Todd, Norman Osborn, and Bucky Barnes are curently on the top of my hit-list - a very, very long list)
His arch-enemy could be a guy called Retcon, with the power to re-write comic book continuity (his alter-ego would be a hack comic book writer modeled on John Byrne) and use it to bring back the dead, among other purposes.
Would you buy it?

No. I think comic readers using better judgment in buying comics would be better. ie. not supporting writers or books that do what you were just discussing.
If comic buyers don't stop buying the books that do this stuff the big 2 won't quit doing it...

Actually,out of all the meaningless ressurections & such,Bucky's is the only one that was presented in a well thought out & plausible way.No punching of walls or something stupid.Brubaker actually pulled this one off pretty good.
It's a dog eat dog world & I'm wearing milkbone underwear.

I'm with the "if you had to bring back Bucky, Brubaker's version aint half bad" camp.
In any event, it seems to me that dobert's idea is kind of cool. However, since it involves use of copyrighted characters from both DC and Marvel, it could never be published.
Therefore, I couldn't buy it even if wanted to.

At any rate,Bucky being found by a Russian sub right after the plane exploded,brought back to life & utilized as a political assasain on & off for the last 50 years is no less beleivable an event than a man frozen,worshiped by eskimos,tossed into the ocean by an Atlantean/human half-breed mutant & rescued by the Avengers in a submarine.And it definitely beats being brought back to life by some psycho butt-munch Superboy wannabe punching a frickin' wall.

No doubt. I've never read the Brubaker Cap/Bucky stuff. But, I've heard nothing but great things about it.
Is the total storyline out in trade yet? What's the name of it? Multiple storylines, or just one?
My wife would probably be into this...
