He stole the show. Maybe because he was mute he still retained his old 'underdog' appeal.

Or maybe because he played 'Baby Come Back' and 'Sexual Healing'. Cute little Bumblebee trying to hook up a bro.

I have to admit, I was pulling for the bad guy when Starscream went up against that squadron of Raptors. Him cutting and running when things went bad was so in line with the original character that it made me smile.

Which kind of made up for the lack of talking. The only thing that would have made that movie perfect is in the end credits when he's hauling ass, just to hear a little of that 'Megatron is down! I am in command! As your newly elected leader...' That would have been the perfect time to hear it.

So, what did everyone think of Optimus calling Megatron brother?

And you thought insurance was high in Gotham City...

 Quote:
A LETTER TO
OPTIMUS PRIME
FROM HIS GEICO
AUTO INSURANCE
AGENT.
BY JOHN FRANK WEAVER

- - - -

Dear Mr. Prime,

We have received your accident-claim reports for the month of June—they total 27. I regret to inform you that GEICO will not be able to reimburse you for any of those repairs. I feel that I have sent the same letter to you once a month for the last six months, and I am now sending it again.

Since becoming a GEICO customer in January of this year, you have reported 131 accidents, requesting reimbursement for repairs necessitated by each one. You have claimed not to be responsible in any of them, usually listing the cause of the accident as either "Sneak attack by Decepticons" or "Unavoidable damage caused by protecting freedom for all sentient beings."

The only repairs for which you were reimbursed were the replacement of a cracked fender and a headlight, required after a Mr. I. Ron Hide backed his van into your truck; these cost $1,286.63. Our own investigation concluded that you were not at fault and that Mr. Hide had been drinking prior to the accident. Though police were unable to test his blood-alcohol level—Mr. Hide claimed that it would be impossible for police to examine his blood-alcohol content with a Breathalyzer, because he "doesn't breathe"—under Washington-state law, refusal to take a Breathalyzer test is equivalent to returning a result above the legal level.

But, I repeat, those were the only repairs for which you have been reimbursed, and it was a very minor accident in comparison to your other claims. I mention a few to illustrate the larger trend:

$379,431.34 requested reimbursement for repairs to your truck cabin. You claimed the damage was caused by attacking fighter jets.

$665,789.11 requested reimbursement for repairs to your trailer. You claimed the damage was caused by a giant mechanical scorpion, which I can only assume is some amusement-park ride, although I question the wisdom of bringing your mobile home so close to such dangerous equipment.

$6,564,239.44 requested reimbursement for repairs to a truck part called the "Autobot Matrix of Leadership." You stated this occurred in "an ultimate confrontation between good and evil," with a Ms. Meg Atron and a Mr. U. Nicron causing the damage in question. Mr. Prime, I have checked every known car- and truck-part catalog published in the United States and have found nothing even resembling that part, never mind any part so expensive. Whatever disagreements you had with Ms. Atron and Mr. Nicron, I suggest that next time you either settle things peaceably or leave your Autobot Matrix of Leadership at home so it doesn't break. GEICO does not cover Autobot Matrix of Leaderships.
And the list goes on. Mr. Prime, I am going to remind you again: Your policy with GEICO only reimburses you for accidents that occur while you are engaged in the reasonable use of your truck and trailer. As I told you when you originally purchased the policy, GEICO does not offer Megatron coverage, Starscream coverage, Soundwave coverage, Decepticon coverage, or Energon-blast coverage. Those are just not the types of damages we would expect from reasonable use.

To sum up, GEICO has been unable to reimburse you for any repairs, but due to the high number of accidents you have been a party to this month, combined with the many accidents you have had in the preceding five months, your premium has increased to $235,567.50 per month. While that may seem like a lot, I remind you that it is a savings of $137 over Progressive and $98 over State Farm. Please have your check into our main office by the end of July.

Regards,

Simon Furman
GEICO Agent

I will never complain about my rates again...

I took it as Prime said "brother" because he was a "brother transformer".

That all Transformers were Prime's brother, that they were all children of the Allspark, and therfore all brothers.

Because that is the way Prime is/was. He cared for all beings, including Megatron. Hence his decision to sacrifice himself destroying the Allspark, rather than kill Megatron and destroy the Allspark.

Yeah. That's why I kind of liked it. I mean, he died for all his little Autobot friends in the old movie. But dying for someone that wants to kill you? Pretty cool.

Or Prime just has a Messiah complex.

There was twenty kickass minutes in that two hour movie. The rest of it was "Prime don't step on the grass!".

I hope when the sequel comes there are less humans and more giant robots hitting each other.

Just got back. I liked it. Definitely took me back to my first 2 years in college when we would meet in my room, fire up the bong and watch Transformers, G.I. Joe and Thundercats back to back before heading out to dinner.

"You've failed me again, Starscream..."

Giggled like a muthafucka.

Ok, not normally a cinema goer, but with the fact I have the week off, and it opened here yesterday, I decided to go see it!

The film itself was awesome, but there were some little touches that made the film that lil bit more special, and some that just made you groan.

Firstly the bad:
Why did they think "We are being chased by murderous robots, lets head into a densely populated city where people can get killed!" rather than "Lets head as far away from a populated area as possible!" was a good idea?
Yeah, I know its cause fighting in a non built up area woulda been dull and it had to be made interesting, but it was just groan worthy!

The other thing is why do things like the drinks machine and mobile phone etc, automatically become evil when they became sentinent?
I spose it could be because they were backwards engineered from Megatron, but thats kinda like saying "if your father is a murderer, so will you be cause you share his genes".

Oh, and either those glasses could grow, or Optimus Primes hands shrunk when he picked them up!

Over all pretty small complaints though, and nothing that stopped my enjoyment!

Now the cool little touches!
What I would assume is Soundwave (the portable CD player guy), was hilarious!
Even his little Cybertronian "Oh shit" when he bought it, was commical!

The fact that Bumblebee assaulted the VW Beetle at the begining of the movie, was obviously a wink towards the original Bumblebee! (surprised nobody else mentioned this).

The breakdancing transformation of Jazz.

The bit when Megatron flicked the human "Disgusting" got a huge laugh from the audience!

The bit when they were all trying to hide in the garden!

The hot chick!

The fact that so much of the films was played for laughs, never allowing you to take the film totally seriously, helped distract kids from just how violent the film actually was.

The effects were awesome, and you never felt like the robots were not real, which was quite an achievment, especially when it came to how they moved (I especially like the mid transit transformations where they had to skid to a hault).

I certainly look forward to getting it on DVD and of course a sequel!
