Yeah, so my birthday is not for another couple of weeks but Ashley (elisa) decided to give me this one present early. A freakin' PS3! Woot! Awesomest girlfriend ever!

I understand Nowhereman has a PS3? Nowie, any suggestions towards games?

At the moment, most of the better games are FPS games!
Personal faves are FEAR, Resistance:Fall of man & Call of duty 3.
The Darkness is quite good, but is an acquired taste I think.
The Transformers is fun in a run around, smash things as a giant robot kinda way, and you also get to drive or fly depending on the Autobot/Decepticon you are playing.

I found Spidey 3 to be so-so, as it wasnt so different to Spidey 2 as they would have you believe!
Marvel Ultimate alliance is good as well, but once again, and acquired taste, plus it really does not make use of the PS3s power.

Motorstorm is a fun driving game, but I would avoid Ridge Racer 7 if I was you, unless of course, you were a fan of the way the previous games played (I have yet to try Need for speed carbon, so cant judge that).
F1 championship edition is great, but will probably only appeal to F1 fans!

Also worth picking up is Splinter Cell:double agent if you like stealthy games!

I havent really played any other games or demos as they either aint my thing, or I aint 100% sure I will like them.

Rainbow Six:Vegas is pretty good by all accounts, as is The Godfather:Dons edition from what my mate says! (we usually have similar taste in games)

Thanks for the suggestions! I may get Transformers along with Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Motorsorm, The Darkness, Rainbox Six, Splinter Cell, The Godfather, and Resistance: Fall of Man I will try after.

FEAR is defo worth picking up if you havent already bought it on the PC.

lair is the closest thing to a "system seller" for ps3 for the time being, sporting a crapload of pre-hype. and rightfully so. it looks beautiful!

release date in the states is August 14, 2007, which is only 2-3 weeks away.

Get Halo 3 (in a few months) and Crackdown.

The Darkness is actually more fun than I initially thought, but a bit simple!
The Darklings crack me up, saying random shit and pissing on corpses etc.
The light killer darkling cracks me up every time it randomly says "Lemon curd".

I ended up getting home Call of Duty 3 and Resistance fall of man as far as video games go!

Sure wish there was more of a ps3 games ochoose from!

What a piece a crap.

Blu-Ray movies. Thats the best thing the PS3 has going for it.

How so?

Story: Nope. Not there. Might as well be Onimusha in how it starts off on a non-sequitur and keeps going with nary a fleshing out. "Ayane, so you're still working for Murai?" Who the fuck is Murai!?

Gameplay: And people say God of War is a button-masher. Not only are the moves repetitive and unversatile, but every time you get to a new stage, all you do is get attacked by a slew of new enemies. Very few times do the devs even bother strategizing them. God of War has that in droves at least.

It won't even let you reticle someone so you won't have to worry about depth of field or have to tweak the wonky camera every which way to keep an eye on the enemy. Then there's the shitty aiming system for the bow. The platforming in Warrior Within puts this one's to shame ten times over.

Graphics: The character models look like fucking mannequins for crying out loud. Yes, the bouncing breasts do make me feel happy, but Team Ninja has no sense of style aside from that.

Characters: They suck.

Sound/Music: They suck.

I must admit, I downloaded and played the demo, and was not impressed!

Fair enough, I like it. I'm playing Call of Duty 3 right now. This game is fun!
