Effigy of Palin Hanging by Noose is Halloween Fun, Owner Says Ghosts, goblins, gargoyles . . . and Sarah Palin hanging by a noose?
That's the latest imagery of the Republican vice presidential candidate and her running mate John McCain on display at a West Hollywood home that has been decorated for Halloween.
The outdoor decor features a mannequin dressed as Palin, wearing a red business suit, eyeglasses and brunette beehive wig, hanging by a noose off the chimney. Right above her, a devilish John McCain emerges from the chimney with paper flames surrounding him.
Some neighbors say it's just wrong to depict a vice presidential candidate that way.
Chad Michael Morisette, who lives in the house, told CBS 2 News that the effigy would be out of bounds at any other time of year, but it's within the spirit of Halloween.
"It should be seen as art, and as within the month of October. It's Halloween, it's time to be scary, it's time to be spooky," Morisette said.
Several locals and tour buses have swung by the house to snap photos of the scene, and some gawkers say it is humorous. Morisette acknowledged to FOX 11 news that had he depicted Barack Obama in the same scene, it would not have gone over as well, because the history of a hanged black man in America is a lot more intense than a hanged white woman.
FOX 11 reported that the scene may also have been a response to a false rumor that recently circulated in the area that drag queens were to be banned from dressing up as Palin for the annual West Hollywood Halloween carnival costume party on Santa Monica Boulevard. The drag race and pageant were held Sunday evening, and no costume was forbidden. Good thing this isn't dressed to look like Obama. The guy would be in jail for a hate crime, and we'd have to pages of whomod, Perkins, and Pro talking about racism and John McCain's desperation. But since it's a woman I'm sure there will be no outrage. this is why you can't say one side is dumber than the other. or more desperate than the other. or more socially insensitive, be it racially or sexually. or any term that outright labels millions of individuals within a single group. because both sides have dumb, racist, insensitive individuals. it is ridiculous to think otherwise. remember, kids; everyone is bad. for every person not voting for obama because he is black, there is another voting for him because he is. for every person not voting for palin/hillary because she's a she, there is another voting for her(s) because she is. there is no mass assumption labeling you can apply to another group that you can't turn on your own.

Some McCain phone bankers quit after refusing to peddle low-brow Obama smears. It's nice to see at least some people in the McCain campaign still have standards. From TPM: Some three dozen workers at a telemarketing call center in Indiana walked off the job rather than read an incendiary McCain campaign script attacking Barack Obama, according to two workers at the center and one of their parents.
Nina Williams, a stay-at-home mom in Lake County, Indiana, tells us that her daughter recently called her from her job at the center, upset that she had been asked to read a script attacking Obama for being "dangerously weak on crime," "coddling criminals," and for voting against "protecting children from danger."
Williams' daughter told her that up to 40 of her co-workers had refused to read the script, and had left the call center after supervisors told them that they would have to either read the call or leave, Williams says. The call center is called Americall, and it's located in Hobart, IN. It's admirable that some people still have a sense of morality, dignity, and fairness in this world. It's remarkable however that McCain has NOTHING left except to try peddle smear and fear in this last desperate week before the election. Now he's pivoted from Obama is a celebrity, to Obama is a terrorist, to Obama is a socialist, to Obama is a Marxist to now finally, Obama is soft on crime.  One can almost see him in the corner frantically rifling thru the Rove/Atwater playbook for something ANYTHING to save his sorry ass.

Kentucky school officials in Lexington were trying to determine who hung a mannequin lookalike of Obama from a tree on campus, school spokesman Carl Nathe told The Associated Press. Police took the effigy down immediately.
In Clarksville, Ind., Kirk Deddo strung an Obama doll up by a noose from a tree on his lawn and called it a Halloween decoration, saying it was the most frightening one he could find, WNDA-TV in Indiana reported.

Deddo said the effigy had nothing to do with race, and he put it up because he doesn't like Obama's stance toward the military.
"Electing Obama as president would be the scariest thing in the world," he told the station.
University of Kentucky President Lee Todd told the AP that he will apologize to the Obama family on the university's behalf because he is "personally offended and deeply embarrassed by this disgusting episode."
The Kentucky incident marks the second time this week that an effigy of the Democratic presidential candidate has been discovered on a college campus.
George Fox University in Oregon announced that it would punish four students who admitted stringing up an Obama doll from a tree on school grounds.
News of the Obama effigies came as the FBI and police in Los Angeles said they aren't treating a Palin doll dangling from a noose in West Hollywood, Calif., as a hate crime because it was part of a Halloween display.
"I'm not defending this; I'm not criticizing it. It doesn't rise to the level of hate crime," L.A. County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told The Los Angeles Times. "Now, if there was a crime against bad taste ..."

I honestly disagree. I think you are like many people that have gotten caught up in Barack's charisma. But you always vote liberal so that is your right. I don't mind that you are voting for Barack or are Liberal.....just don't pretend to be something you are not. It's why I laugh at whomod who is so far left but try to talk to MEM who can be rational at times. You are like MEM. And I am like G-man I may think I am moderate but when the time comes to vote every year I just don't see myself ever voting for a dem....I don't think you can be rational and do so.

You know what else clinton did? He said everyone should own a home, even if they are too poor too afford one. Its a good thing we aren't dealing with the end result of that now.
He also let terrorists walk all over us. Its a good thing they left us alone once he left office.
