McGuiness' art, which I've never cared for on the printed page, actually translates pretty well to animation. Maybe he should consider doing character design work for cartoons.

Timm neither wrote, directed, nor produced that episode. So even if you think it made CK "cool," it appears that Timm had little, if anything to do with that.

He was also the lead character designer, coming up with the base designs for most of the cast with the exception of Mr. Freeze, Riddler, Mad Hatter, and Man-Bat. So, he's responsible for the Clock King's visual look, at least.

looks fun. ill of course watch it. my only complaint would be if it's sticking too much to the comics -- which is how it appears, showing segments from the first 12 or so issues (i wonder if it'll be individual segments, ala "gotham knight").
it's not because i didn't enjoy the issues, but because we all just read them a few years ago. i'd rather have a new story, ala "worlds finest" the previous (and most awesome) batman/superman animated adventure.

Considering the list of characters I've seen online, It looks like it's covering the very first story arc, which was just 6 issues I think.
