I got on this weird kick of looking up and watching old cartoons from the late seventies and early eighties that I remembered. most of these didn't last too long.

Hanna Barbera's short lived Space Stars revived Space Ghost and the Herculoids in an anthology format with two new features: Teen Force and Astro & the Space Mutts. the Jetson's dog was now having adventures with other talking dogs and the Burt Reynolds like Space Ace. the last episode of each show, the Space Stars Finale, featured crossovers between various characters.

The Super 7. all I really remember about this is Super Stretch. later, Tarzan was added to this anthology show. he was bumped out of the top spot the next season by Batman, of all people.

The Drak Pack! teenage descendants of classic monsters decide to use their abilities to become superheroes. okay. . .

Fangface. one of HB's many Scooby-Doo knockoff shows.

Heathcliff & Dingbat. Dingbat & The Creeps were very Stooge like.

Rickety Rocket. even in the future, black people will be poor and drive hoopties.

Mighty Man and Yukk. a tiny superhero and the ugliest dog evar.

Plastic Man. he can even dance.

Godzilla. loved the opening theme until it got to the Godzooky part. Doug Wildey (Jonny Quest) and Dave Stevens worked on this.

Lone Ranger. this was paired in a block with Tarzan and Zorro. no teamup, though.

The Super Globetrotters!

Dynomutt

The Thing cartoon from Fred and Barney Meet the Thing. sort of a spinoff from The New Fantastic Four cartoon (the one with Herbie). an experiment to cure the Thing reverts him to a teenager and he can now turn into the Thing with his Thing Rings. seriously. . .

I never realized it was the same Thing. As a kid I thought it was Shaggy or something.

Why didn't he just move the truck instead of causing thousands in damage to the railroad tracks?

I think Grimm and I have talked several times about some of these shows. I remember watching the Lone Ranger one right before wrestling on Saturdays. The Spider-man and His Amazing Friends was the first time we got an Aussie Wolverine. Rickey Rocket is just fucking racist.

This thread reminded me of another show I watched as a kid. Magicland was done my the weatherman for WMCTV out of Memphis. They'd play old cartoons like the old Jackson 5 or George of the Jungle in between him performing magic tricks.

And, yes, I realize that clip seems a bit pedophillic.

somebody on youtube claims that Rickety Rocket was actually dropped due to complaints from the NAACP. don't know if that's true, but it's possible.

wonder if I can find a clip of wolverine offering firestar a fruit kabob. . .

I find it amusing that the Announcer guy for Spider-man and His Amazing Friends is the same one as Thundarr...the music person sounds similar too.
