I have half a million dollars in Sunday paper coupons clipped. He'd better act quick before they expire.

The SaveRite on the corner doubles coupons. Just thought I'd throw that out there during negotiations.

This has been ongoing for a bit. Someone will rise up to take their place. This is the reason for the Indy broohaha from a couple years back.

If downloads were $1-2 I could see them competing with the newsstand version, but I'm not paying $4 for comics that doesn't actually require printing and shipping costs.

Hell, I don't have to pay for digital comics now...

Doesn't matter. The thing is that it will cut further into the profit margins of both stores and distributors. And right now both DC and Marvel are trying to mollify the stores by keeping prices comparable but eventually (just as with the move to same day ipad release) the e-discount will happen. And, finally, just as with othervmedia, the download will win out.

Apple. Yep. And Amazon have a better distribution system than Diamond.

The publishers match their online version prices not so as to cannibalize sales, but to support retailers. Once an iPad saturation point is reached, goodbye retailers, and prices will drop, especially on back issues (amongst the most popular of sales, incidentally).
