while i'm doing that, i just wanted to stop by and wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. there are some people that still post here that used to enjoy my posts and i'm sure that there are some people that post here that don't give a shit if i live or die. regardless...i want to wish ALL of you an enjoyable turkey day. this has been a year of tumultuous and tremendous change for me and i am very thankful for making it thru to the other side. so...i just wanted to extend warm holiday wishes to each of you. be happy, people. or be miserable. just....BE. holla.

oh and Dave...i still fondly remember our communication back in 2000 and 2001. i may have been a little over the top in calling you a racist a few months back...i just wish that you could see the shades of grey that exist in every black and white interaction. and finally...Herman Cain is a bought and paid for creature of the wealthy right wing machine. he is the very definition of a modern house nigger. i wouldn't be surprised if he killed himself after Romney is nominated cuz he will never have the approval of so many white poeple again.

Oderint, dum metuant.

You are a god damned idiot, you know that? You ought to be smacked upside your dumb-fuck head, even after all these years. Shame on you!

Much love back at you, Sir Bastid. Enjoy some bird & drink tomorrow.

It would make him quite reasonable. I'd actually listen to him, for once.

The funny, and sad, thing is he actually believes this.

Excellent. Rowe baked a honey-ham this year, as well as the normal turkey I put on the smoker, along with my famous Spinach & Artichoke Casserole and my normal Garlic/Cheddar biscuits. Along with all the other food her parents brought over, and the seven bottles of various wines my sister-in-law and her boyfriend brought over, I'm surprised I'm still conscious. So, all-in-all, a mighty feast like normal.

How was YOUR Thanksgiving, SoM? Did you give Thanks for America, too?

I am always giving Thanks to America, for being home to millions of hot chicks whose boobs I want to squeeze. I say god bless america for big boobs and the women who own them.

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
And nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
But I know

I never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
And nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
And nothing else matters

Never cared for what they say
Never cared for games they play
Never cared for what they do
Never cared for what they know
And I know (yeah!)

So close no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trust in who we are
No nothing else matters

Sounds good. My early Thanksgiving dinner was grilled salmon on a bed of arugula; shrimp cocktails; baked potatoes; a "salad" consisting of basil, tomatoes, and fresh sliced mozzarella; crescent rolls and baklava.

The late dinner was smoked turkey with the traditional sides/desserts. A very good and fattening day.

I love the unorthodox assembly of food! Was the Baklava bought or made? Phyllo dough is a bitch to roll without tearing. I usually buy from a bakery. If you have a good recipe, I'd like it.

Figured you would. Some of the dishes you prepared sounded great, too. I have a large family that has multiple dinners between now and Christmas that always have turkey and/or ham. Years ago, my mom and I made it a tradition to always do an unorthodox dinner during the holidays. It's our sanity break.

I wish I had a recipe to share for it. Alas, I--too--buy from the bakery. Unfortunately, baking isn't my strong suit when it comes to cooking.

i do love that the rkmbs' official "how was your thanksgiving thread" has the original subject title that it does.

after last year's nightmarish, hospital bound thanksgiving, this one was way better. family, normalcy, and eating until feigned pregnancy. and the leftover parade continues.

Yes. Except for leap years. And then it's called "Sadie Hawkins Day"
