It's in the same nanny-state category as telling people where they can smoke, or wanting to "sin-tax" cigarettes or soft-drinks or hamburgers.
At least in this case a "sin-tax" would be for an actual sin.
I wonder if this law can possibly last. If so, they'll just succeed in driving the porn industry (and the California tax revenue they pay) to Nevada or some other state.

Well, in the article, they're targeting the San Francisco area next, for enacting similar laws.
Nevada, the home of bunny ranches and legalized prostitution, seems like a good match for the porn industry, if it leaves California.
