Well, it WAS kind of funny to be honest. But, I mean...yeah, lack of protein from meat REALLY increases your virility... Then again, anyone who "goes vegan" for that reason alone is the kind of person who would believe it...
Lack of proteins isn't that difficult to avoid for vegans; combine legumes (beans, peas, peanuts, etc) with grain (bread, pasta, etc) and you're safe in that regard.
You'll probably fart more, though.
Of greater concern is lack of iron (especially for girls and women who have the period) and of vitamin B12; you need A LOT of spinach to get the same amount of iron found in red meat and offal, and "total" vegans need to get vitamin B12 in artificial form since it's only naturally found in foods of animal origin.
