News broadcasting pioneer, '60 Minutes' reporter Mike Wallace dies at age 93: Wallace died Saturday night, CBS spokesman Kevin Tedesco said. On CBS' "Face the Nation," host Bob Schieffer said Wallace died at a care facility in New Haven, Conn., where he had lived in recent years.

I wonder how many political cartoonists have started sketching out the obligatory cartoon of him conducting a hard hitting interview of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates.

I know Wallace best for his part on 60 Minutes. And while I always regarded him as liberal media, I'm very aware that at least the liberal journalists of his generation made some reach for objectivity.
As opposed to what we're seeing in the era of the Obama Ministry of Truth, where journalists unashamedly spin their craft with allegience to the Annointed One, and no pretense otherwise.


Relative to what we have now, I mourn the loss of guys like Tim Russert and Mike Wallace.

Fucking 93 years old. He was probably begging for death.
