Star Trek: Renegades is a fan created project to create a pilot for a new Star Trek series. Several former Star Trek actors will appear, including Walter Koenig, Garrett Wang and J. G. Hertzler. Tim Russ will appear and direct the pilot. Funding was successfully sought for production during 2012 through Kickstarter and additional funding was raised through Indiegogo in 2013.

The pilot will be set nearly ten years after the end of Star Trek: Voyager. The head of Section 31 sends a motley crew of outcasts to intervene when the planet Reuel VII is isolated from outside contact through unnatural means. Reuel VII is the main source of dilithium for the Federation, requiring them to gain access to the planet once more at all costs.
