From Defense Industry Daily:

 Quote:

• The U.K. released photos via Twitter showing Pantsir-1/SA-22 anti-aircraft systems rolling through rebel-controlled Ukraine. The SA-22 was never fielded by Ukraine and almost certainly came compliments of the Russian government. The Foreign Office calling out Russia via Twitter may indicate that the alternative to diplomacy isn't force after all. To do harm to Zhou Enlai's famous quotation: "All social media is a continuation of diplomacy by other means."

The Economist's analysis of Poot-Poot is that either he is "bad, mad or sad".

By bad, he is a bad guy trying to get control of territory, and the Baltics are next.
By mad, he isn't thinking this through clearly - the war in rustbelt Ukraine isn't exactly prime real estate.
By sad, the oil-reliant Russian economy is in the toilet, and sad, so this is all a big nationalistic "look over there, nothing to see here and anyway its all the West's fault".

Or maybe he is bit of all three.

Ummm....All of the above?

Putin wants his Soviet utopia back. The first step to doing that is re-absorbing the Soviet bloc.

What might work for Ukraine won't work for Romania though. I got to talk to some people there and they still remember fondly the day they executed their own dictators, the Ceausescus.

Regardless, Obama is a weak leader whose inaction encourages Putin (and all the world's rogue governments and terror groups) to
increasingly bold acts of aggression, in the Ukraine and elsewhere.

Putin owns more of Ukraine's real estate now than he did a month ago. And A YEAR AGO Obama could have put a stop to it
by simply selling weapons and ammunition to Ukraine so they could deter the Russians, and potentially defend themselves.

Obama could also have permitted an increase in natural gas production, to export to Western Europe, so those nations had an
alternative fuel source that would allow them to oppose the Russians.

If Obama were president in 1948, we would now be having this conversation in Russian.

Here is a video uploaded by a Russian airforce guy on board a nuclear bomber, a TU-95 Bear, pacing out shipping channels in international waters. You can see British and French fighters "escort" the bomber: they're practically sitting on the wings. Really amazing footage, especially of the bomber's slow-turning props.
