Most of those I never heard of. It's been a while since I've seen Event Horizon, but I don't remember anything "sick and twisted" about it.

I guess what constitutes "sick and twisted" is a subjective call. But it does get you to click on the link to see their list!

I think the most sick and twisted movie I've seen was Mel Gibson's The Passion. Really disturbing stuff, even for the faithful. It just obsessed over flogging the guy for two hours, and didn't even balance it out with the most important parts of the gospels!

Some others that come to mind are the "gorno" flicks that IFC likes to run endlessly, such as "Turista", "Hostel" ,and "Hostel 2".

Carpenter's 1982 "The Thing" is not just twisted, but an excellent movie with a great cast. "Hostel" [I], and the "Saw" movies I know from IFC. The rest I haven't seen.

Some others I'd recommend are Phantasm and Phantasm II, both with some very disturbing imagery. "The Hills Have Eyes" and its remakes and sequels are in the same basic style as the movies the makers of this list seem to hold in high regard. And likewise, it is played endlessly on IFC.

I go for the classics, "Rosemary's Baby", The Omen", "The Omen II", the first "Halloween" movie in 1978, and a few others.

From the modern fare, I like a movie called "The Exorcism of Emily Rose"(2005) starring Laura Linney as a lawyer hired to defend a priest when his exorcism of a teen girl results in her death. A trial courtroom drama with a lot of flashbacks to what happened, and based on a true story of a girl in Germany. It does a good job of portraying the supernatural, but in a way that also leaves open the door to the supernatural events just being over-active imagination.

There was a less impressive but fun movie I watched a few years ago, "Red Snow" if I recall the title correctly, about college kids on vacation in Europe who end up fighting for their lives against the unearthed resurrected zombie remnants of Nazi soldiers killed in World War II.

Gamespot's a sinking ship. Their traffic has gone so far down the tubes that they have to resort to generic pop-culture pieces and shitty top ten articles.

I still post on their boards every now again, but there's barely anyone there.

It's their own dam fault really for running it like a police state and chasing everyone off. That being said, they've relaxed the rules in response to everyone turning away. I'd be lying if I said I didn't find their policy 180--and their series of layoffs (see also: Petit and McShea layoffs)--immensely enjoyable.
