We watched the first two episodes tonight.

For the first 45 minutes or so, I felt like I was watching a Christopher Guest mockumentary, ala "A Mighty Wind" or "Best in Show." If I didn't know it was real, I would have thought Guest was playing Joe Exotic , Catherine O'Hara was cast as Carole Baskin and John Michael Higgins was Doc Antle.

I went into it with some trepidation, thinking it would be "brave and beautiful animal rescue woman vs depraved hillbilly animal abuser." However, as the show unfolded, I appreciated the fact that none of these people looked that good. Joe and Carole Baskin were basically two sides of the same exploitative coin. Doc seemed like he genuinely cared about the tigers but was a creepy cult leader.

Oh, and so far I am inclined to believe that Baskin murdered her husband.

I think I just finished episode four. Almost every person involved in this story is creepy.

I think that "Christopher Guest film?" is a very good way to describe this.

It's been a good month for Docuseries, McMillions was good too.

Florida Sheriff Says Carole Baskin Refused Polygraph Test: ‘Everyone Else Has Agreed’

“The last dealings that we had were back in 2011,” Chronister said of the principal investigation into Lewis’s mysterious disappearance and now-presumed–and legally-adjudicated–death. “We did offer Carole an opportunity to take a polygraph.”

Straight, no chaser. The sheriff did not mince words:

Everyone else has agreed. And she declined. She said that her attorney told her it wouldn’t vindicate her of anything. So, she declined to be interviewed.

Carol, and Werner Herzog ate Lewis. In my own humble opinion.

G-man hooked me in with the “best in show” comparison. Really sad seeing how all these zoo owners really not only abused the animals but really their workers/volunteers too. Haven’t finished it yet but it does look like Carol could have killed her husband. I don’t want to defend her as I think it’s pretty clear that she’s doing pretty much the same thing as Joe Exotic but calling her operation a rescue one. However fishy it might look though we don’t know for a fact that she killed her first husband. Not a small part of this show is Joe Exotic making that accusation over and over again. None of the main players are likable so I guess it shouldn’t bug me to much but what if she didn’t off her husband?

You know it’s a wild show when the most likable and levelheaded characters are The retired drug dealer who was the model for Scarface and the gender fluid Native American who let their arm get amputated.

Family of Carole Baskin’s missing ex-husband airs ad during ‘DWTS’

Speaking on the commercial, family lawyer John Phillips said: “Don Lewis mysteriously disappeared in 1997, his family deserves answers, they deserve justice. Do you know who did this or if Carole Baskin was involved?”

His oldest daughter Donna said: “We need to know what happened to our father.” The family then announced a $100,000 reward for any information.

According to TMZ, Lewis’ family feels her participation in the dance competition series undermines the ongoing investigation into his whereabouts and is a “grossly insensitive” decision by the show’s producers.

Baskin was set to dance to “Eye of the Tiger” for her first performance.
