In the White House press corps room, or in this town hall hit job, she is an obvious partisan, consistently trying to slant things to hurt Republicans, and Trump in particular.
But in the town hall meeting, the clear peak and breakout moment of her career, it all blows up in her face, as in the entire program she never tries to be objective, instead tries to distortedly slam Trump with every question. And with each slanted question, Trump makes her (and CNN, and the wider partisan-Democrat-Bolshevik media) look foolish.
It actually went so badly for CNN, failed so badly in its attempt to make Trump look bad --
actually made Trump look good !-- that CNN pre-emptively ended the CNN 90-minute town hall, after only 69 minutes !
Trump did what no Democrat would do, he went on the hostile partisan network of his political opposition, where they have maximum ability to spin things in the most negative context against him, and even there, they failed to hurt him.
If Trump had done a town hall on Fox or Newsmax, he would simply be viewed by his base, the people who are already voting for him. But appearing on CNN, in a town hall meeting, in a live setting less easily filtered by CNN selective editing, Trump was given a platform to make his case directly with the people who
aren't already predisposed to vote for him, and he clearly did well and won some converts.
Even more hilarious was CNN in the days after, apologizing to their viewers for allowing Trump on their network. In Anderson Cooper's words to CNN viewers:
"You have every right to be outraged and never watch this network again...." Yeah, I did that a long time ago. About the time they jettisoned Lou Dobbs.
CNN apologizing, for just allowing the leading Republican candidate for 2024 to be heard.
Apologizing?!?
For letting voters listen to Trump and decide for themselves whether or not they believe him, whether his answers to allegations, whether his plans for the country, whether his defense of his own record, are more credible and believable than what his political opposition and George Orwell's liberal media have alleged?
Judging from the public reaction to the town hall, and CNN's hilarious apologies of the last few days, the public overwhelmingly believes Trump and not CNN and the other partisan media.
And CNN apologized for letting people judge the facts for themselves!
Isn't that exactly what CNN and the rest of the
93% Trump-hating media are
supposed to do?
Present both sides, and let the public decide for themselves what the facts are? CNN basically apologized for manifesting any resemblance to actual journalism, and promised their audience, that in the future we will only give you one side, and never again let the bad man,
BAD man, be able to defend himself on our channel. From this day forward, CNN will give you only one side, and spoon feed you a partisan narrative of what you should think about Trump.
Well done, CNN ! That should really expand your viewership.
The irony is, CNN averages about 700,000 viewers a night in that time slot, and having Trump on gave them triple their normal audience in that hour, brought them droves of potential new viewers. But now... those people know to never come back.
