No no no you silly homasexual! It's Green Goblin. The original, not Harry Osbourn or his shrink. Or even the resurected version. The one that died. I always thought it was a great idea that a hero's greatest advesary knew all his secrets and even killed the love of his life. They should have left him dead...

The original Hobgoblin, when Roger Stern was writting him, was also good, Then when he left the book, they started using the character too much and it all went downhill from there...

There is only Doom!
Scientist, Magician , Patriach, All Around Evil Sucka!

I mean think about it Ra's was just created as a Doom for Batman (with all the mystical occult hoobie and having the resources of a small nation).Even look at the reinvention of Luthor as a businessman and not a scientist - it's all Doom.
As far as nemeses go Joker's the king - his chaotic insanity is a perfect foil to Batman's controlled insanity - but Doom is a villain for all.

What can I say? I dig these Bat villains (though Bane is not so much a villain anymore). I like that they can hurt Batman both in mind and body. They really put him to the test when it comes to being a hero. I know that other Bat villains have done the same on occasion, but I also like that these two can more than hold there own when against another villain.

I don't really read any Marvel books so I can't comment on them. Although I have liked Thanos. This is the way Darkseid should be. Kinda funny cuz he was the Darkseid copy.

There are probably more favorites, but I can't think of any right now. Those ones are at the top of my mind.

Parallax comes to mind, too. I wasn't interested in Green Lantern until Hal's fall from being a hero. As Parallax I liked the idea of having the power to change and do whatever you thought was best. It was interesting to ponder just how far would you go to "fix" things.

IT's the kooky assassin with a death wish, DEADSHOT, if I'm correct he's also the first DC villain to warrant a second mini-series under his own name. I'm also quite fond of Captain Boomerang, of course, he's a loser, but he killed and threw off a tower a guy who made fun of him. That was pretty cool, plus he's an untrustworthy, backstabbing opportunist (sending Slipknot away to see whether his arm would really be blown off or throwing pies in Belle Reve). I wonder why he's so fat in Identity Crisis now, but it seems he'll have a larger role to play there. Still, Floyd is so much cooler, hence my username.
Then there's Lord Naga Naga, or Naja Naja, a.k.a. Kobra. I like how he just squanders his underlings lives.
On the Marvel side I like Thanos best. Classic line: Surely you jest!

Mr Hyde in LOEG. Was he a villain or a hero?

Certainly his disposal of the Invisible Man suggest he wasn't the nicest of people. "I assure you that his end was... comfortable."

In comic form he probably fits into the John Constantine "anti-hero" category.
