I question that. The press has a lot invested in seeing that the "First Black President" succeeds and they don't want to appear "racist." Couple that with their general preference for left of center policy and candidates and there's a good chance that the "attack" stories won't materialize. Further, as mentioned before, I think the press will just scapegoat old white male Joe Biden and focus on his gaffes, sort of the way they did with Quayle under Bush 41.
