Anybody played this?
Was originally stoked for it. I enjoyed Guilty Gear, and the XrD series' clever use of a 3D engine to simulate 2D animation (traditional sprite-based 2D engines won't do, because the 2D engine lacks dynamic camera angles and the jagged edges of the sprite ruin the immersion) finally allowed for a game that looked very much like an episode of the anime.
But the game itself is a bit underwhelming. It's obvious that they are trying to make this into an e-sport, and it's succeeding but that also means casuals and people who only care about playing a dragon ball game will find the game boring eventually. The forced 3vs3 mechanics also ruin immersion. This is not a dragon ball game at all, but a fighting game with dragon ball themes.
