Yeaaaaaahh--definitely wanted an alternate ending. I didn't want to join the triads, but I didn't want Jiang to come out on top. The game tried to fashion her as some kind of lesser evil or good-hearted criminal, but she's just as cunty as everyone else (Big Smile Lee included).

I wanted a "Kill 'em all" option.

And, quite frankly, I didn't find Pendrel to be all that bad until they went down the 'Interpol promotion' route, effectively making Hong Kong just an afterthought to him. Frankly, the game's narrative has no right to quibble about Pendrel breaking the rules when that's essentially what Shen's been doing the entire game. As such, Shen had no right to complain when Pendrel let the 18k loose on the Sun On Yee when he was the one who refused to work with his own organization.

The game had a lot of greatness to it. However, the story was less than satisfying.
