I remember the 1982 war well, as kind of one of those early memories as a kid of world events that stick (I was 12). People were very critical of Margaret Thatcher diverting attention away from domestic woes by hamming up a war and patriotic fervour - which undoubtedly she did - but the cause was just. Falklanders have demonstrated repeatedly that they want to remain British.
