Trump's "solutions" when examined would actually hurt more than help. And I can't remember any candidate that was able to insult their way to the WH. I think voters look for somebody that is more optimistic and looks capable of being President. Trump is neither of those. He represents the last gasp of a dying party that relied on the white majority for to long and now either needs to change or die.
