Except the press DIDN'T report on Obama the same way. They failed to warn us about Obama's radical leftism and long association with Leftists.
Even though the information about Obama was right there and hard to miss, it went unreported.
And at every stage the media partisanly favored Obama's presidency, flying cover for him with the most supportive spin possible, or just selectively omitting negative coverage.
One example: At this point in Obama's term the economy was still crashing, we'd lost literally millions of jobs, home prices were still depreciating and we had a surplus of about 2 million foreclosed homes. (I personally know 3 people who lost their homes in that period.) But the media was pumping Obama up saying
Hey, we're already in recovery and we just don't know it yet, unemployment is just a lagging economic indicator.Conversely, with Trump they are constantly downplaying the growth that is
obviously a direct result of Trump's policies and deregulation. The best economic performance numbers overall in 20 years. The lowest unemployment for blacks, Hispanics, women, high school dropouts, and paroled inmates EVER! And the media's reaction? Largely unreported, but when they do, they say
GLOOM DOOM APOCALYPSE! It's only temporary, it will tank soon. Paul Krugman actually told people immediately after the 2016 election that
the stock market is going to crash because of Trump's election, get out of the stock market now! Clearly, the liberal media were and are trying to create a self-fulfilling prophecy, to try and destroy the economy, to destroy the COUNTRY ITSELF just to undermine Trump.
I'd also point out that Trump and Obama's
poll numbers at this point are virtually identical, and many days Trump is a point or two higher. That's with the media as the wind at Obama's back every step of the way, and with the media slandering and tearing Trump down every day, based on absolutely no facts. Despite Trump's great performance, the media portrays it negatively.
