From 1970-1981, with Conan, Solomon Kane, Kull, Bran Mak Morn, Tarzan, Korak, Pellucidar, John Carter, Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, The Shadow, the Avenger, Almuric and several other 1930's pulp-character revivals on the stands, someone who grew up in the 1930's must have been astonished at the ratio of characters they grew up with that were back in print on the stands as new comic series.

But I think none were as evocative of the original series as O'Neil/Kaluta's THE SHADOW. Particularly in these covers.
