WEIRD MYSTERY 1, another of my favorite mystery covers by Kaluta, from August 1972. Enhanced all the more by the cover story being written and illustrated by Kirby, and more Kirby work in issues 2 and 3 (the contents of the aborted SPIRIT WORLD 2 magazine, published in another form in these WEIRD MYSTERY 1-3 issues, and in DARK TALES OF FORBIDDEN MANSION 6. )
Kaluta also did an interior story, "The Strange Ones" in issue 24, the last issue of WEIRD MYSTERY, in 1975. About a year after he finished his classic run on THE SHADOW, and was still doing covers for the E.R. Cruz issues.
