The two wildest technologies they're working on are:
1) trying to develop technology so humans can grow back limbs or organs the same way lizards can. I've been hearing about this research for over 10 years.
2) Breaking the DNA code to reverse the aging process. If they could do that, humans would be able to live for thousands of years!
They're also working on cloning of meat so that farms could just grow beef or chicken in a petrie dish, and we could get meat without slaughtering animals. From what I understand, that one is coming close to fruition.
They also are coming closer to a cure for HIV/AIDS, and just yesterday I saw a story that they are getting close to a preventive cure for the common cold.
If we can avoid blowing ourselves up, it could be a great future.
